Snow Day PIPs: Prom Dresses!
I will preface this by saying that I spent entirely too much money on my prom/grad dress, but rationalized it because I wore it 3 times. To my prom, my ex's grad dinner and my grad dinner (as I graduated a year early, so had prom and grad the same year).
Two friends and I made the trek down to Niagara Falls, NY to find Moir Lee dresses. I'd seen a teal/purpleish tulle cloud of a dress in a magazine that I wanted, but they didn't have. They did, however, have a very similar dress in, well, white. So yeah, I essentially wore a wedding dress.
Only 1 of my other friends ended up getting a dress there, and here we are!
Being the type A person that I am, I made my friends all line up for pictures by dress colour, which of course put me at the front and made us look the the brides side from 27 Dresses, though the movie was still years away.
Clearly I needed to lay off the tanning bed!
Now, PIP your prom dresses!!

I only have one picture here with me - I wish I had the formal picture done, 'cause it actually looked awesome, I thought.
Mine was pale green - think celadon, with boning around in the bodice, and a drop v waist. I actually loved it, wore it again the next year for my BF's grad too. I had this audrey hepburn french twist.
I think that was the first time I felt classy!

I loved my prom dress, and I think I still have it back at my parent's place. It was a teal color, with a mermaid skirt. Not a great pic, but the only one of just me.
I really liked the back - I had to show it off for this staged pic of me putting the corsage on my BF at the time.

I really liked my dress, I was super comfortable in it and I loved my hairdo.
I still have it and was just wondering the other day if it still fits me. I'm considering wearing it to a friend's wedding in June. I only wore it that one time.

Mine was red with a black lacy type of overlay, with spaghetti straps and just a little bit of poof in the skirt. I loved the black shawl I wore with it; I still use it often.
Yes. I wore a tiara. To be fair... it was a birthday gift from my friends. But to be more fair... they gifted it to me because I talked about wearing a tiara for prom for weeks.
(Not my date. My BF at the time didn't come because he had to stay at "university" in Waterloo for a "quiz". Jerk.)

Raynes - my Jr. Prom dress was white too... but it had a silver design on it... I also needed to lay off the tanning bed... don't have pics on the comp of that one...
Sr Prom my dress was pretty pricy for 2001 (I think like $365... and that's prob still sorta pricy today I'd assume)... however, I've gotten a lot of use from this dress... it's still my go to "black tie" wedding option... It's two pieces, hence why you can sorta see my stomach when I'm leaning over in the one shot (but otherwise my stomach isn't shown... not my thing). The corset top is beaded and the skirt was trumpeted raw silk... I'll see if I can get a better or my formal pic...

Your dress is adorable. I expected much more from the 80's, but it helps to know there's a huge bow in the back.
I had a pink one when I was a freshman, so 1984, but it was a medium sort of pink with spaghetti straps. No pictures of that one.

I am a young one so this isn't from that long ago (2007). I got my dress super cheap the year before and still have it. I plan to get back down to that size by the summer and wear it for a picnic.
I am wearing a cardigan because the night of our prom was a thunderstorm, the power was actually out for an hour before the main event.

This was my 11th grade prom, it was right after Jason got out of the hospital after he broke his back. He looks really pale and skinny.
This was 10th grade, right after Jason and I started dating. We look so young.
It is pretty fantastic. He refused to wear his shoes until we got to prom.
oh yes. all these pictures seriously MADE my day, ladies! here are mine! I just took pictures of pictures, so pardon the quality. the color is really misrepresented in these pictures... it was much more bright pink than salmon.
I actually really loved this dress - it's a Jessica McClintock, and I got it at a great price because it was missing a few sequins, which wasn't even noticeable at all.also, please note the strategically placed highlights JUST for my up-do.
