let's get this board jumpin'

What's new in your world?

Any fun updates?

We're putting in an offer on a new construction home tonight.  It's a counter to their counter... so I'm really hoping this one works out - because DH isn't willing to spend any more.

Hopefully I'll be back with good news tonight!

...your turn!

  • More house dust to you shanwalk!

I'm in line for a promotion at work... they're taking their sweet time in deciding about it though.  In the meantime, I'm doing the job of 3 people.  Yay.

On a personal note, still seeing my therapist and it's going well.  I'm really thankful that I have a professional to talk to about all the crap that's going on in my life lately.  I wouldn't say I've exactly made any progress... or I took two steps forward and two steps back anyway.  But I'm glad I'm going.

And can I just say that I hate all this ice up here?  It's ridiculous.  And it's messing with my plans this week!

  • I started this new workout program called the New Rules of Lifting for Abs, and I love it. I'm really enjoying it.

    Only 115 days until Summer!

I hope the promotion comes along soon for you! and that they hire another 2-3 people to help you with that load!!

We don't have ice... but these black outs are quite irritating.

  • I started my semester of student teaching last week.  While I'm excited to FINALLY be graduating, after taking 7 years to get here, I'm kind of terrified to have to actually find a job.

  • Shanwalk, I completely forgot to tell you GOOD LUCK with the house stuff when I saw you today. I have everything crossed that you get it!

My big news is that I am going to France in May (for a work conference, but still...). I love France.

  • Nothing is really going on with us. We are just going day to day, DH works 10-12 hour days and I try to stay busy. Really think I need to start planning a vacation or something. Trying to keep myself from having a pitty party and keep the faith. But it's hard. Thinking of opening the bottle of wine when I get home. And finish it off by the time DH gets home ;)

  • I should be doing homework but I'm not.  Going back to school was harder than I thought it'd be... and I'm still in the intro classes.

I really want a glass of wine.

  • Not much going on here. I'm enjoying my new job, but it's keeping me really busy. No daytime nesting! Boo!  I've been in court every day this week, get to spend tomorrow in the office and then have court again Friday and Monday. I can definitely see this getting exhausting, but I'm enjoying it so much more than sitting in the office every single day!
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • Good luck shanwalk!! Hopefully they'll accept and you'll be on your way to owning a home!

Austinbride - I'm so glad you are getting something beneficial out of your counseling, if nothing else, its good to be able to have someone to talk to that isn't in whatever situation is going on.

Let's see....new in my world...everything. Hopefully you guys don't mind having a (soon to be) single girl hanging out. You guys have always been so supportive when needed and I hope I get the chance to get to know more of you! I feel like I'm getting a fresh start and am excited and hopeful that maybe I will start making good decisions in my life finally.

A fun update, I'm planning on going on a mission trip in April with my church to Honduras and I am SUPER excited for the opportunity to help a community that really needs it!

  • Shanwalk - How did the house stuff go?

Gastons - sorry to hear the news, but your outlook is awesome. Here's to new beginnings!

Not much new here. I've had my nose buried in work for the past three weeks or so. Need to bury it again today to catch up from the past three days.

Oh! We're remodeling our old house, the one that was on the market for almost two years. Yeah. Crazy. But it's looking great. We took down a wall to open up the living room and and updating the two baths. There will be pictures when it is all done.

  • Shanwalk - I hope the house stuff went well last night and I am so glad you've been successful with WW.

Gastons - Sorry about the news. Things aren't great at  our house either.

Nothing 'new' going on. Just personal stuff at home. :-/ The kids keep me busy. I'm really trying to figure out this losing weight stuff and trying to get to the gym.

Sorry to hear that things aren't great at your house....hopefully things will turn around and get back to where they need to be!

Try not to get discouraged on the weight loss...the little changes you make will add up eventually =)

And - I completely missed it earlier, but congrats Sandie on being almost done with school!!! It really is a great accomplishment!

  • Good post!

Gastons, I've been single (well, not married) for nearly 2 years now, and no one has kicked me off the nest yet.  Smile  I'm sorry to hear about the change in your life, but feel free to page/pm me if you want to chat.

As for my update: work is busy, life is busy and I'm totally over the cold weather.  I am excited that I'm getting a new garage door installed at my house in the next few days--the old one is original to the house (1985) and wood.  For the past several months, it's taken 2 - 5 tries to open every morning, and the noise it makes is so loud and screechy that it makes my teeth itch.

  • Gastons, I've been single about a year and a half, and it will get better.

There is also a Starting Over board on the nest that you might want to check out.

    Hang in there!

  • i've been SO not motivated at work lately and just not motivated to do anything productive at home. usually when i take time off of work, it's just for a long weekend or an active vacation. so after i took between christmas and new year's off, it's been REALLY hard to get back into work mode.

then last week i was sick and this week i'm taking some days off for chinese new year and my birthday. i need something to get me inspired. things have been kind of slow for me at work and it's just taking all the wind out of my sails.

  • I'm glad to finally see some people posting over here!

Nothing new in my life.  Work has been stressful because of all the budget cuts.  I pray that I have enough kids sign up for my classes so they still need me next year.  Although, this has been making me think about what I'd do otherwise because sometimes I get so frustrated at work.  I haven't thought of anything yet.

That's about it with me.  I'm sorry for those of you who are going through tough times right now.  I hope it gets better (in whatever way you need it to) soon.

Me too. And feel free to post over here if you're single, married, living in sin, polygamist, whatever. We don't judge. :)
