Party venue suggestions

Hello everyone!

I've never posted on this board, but I used to post some on the Oklahoma Brides board on The Knot. I'm from Oklahoma, but currently live out of state. My family still lives back there.

My parents' 25th wedding anniversary is coming up in May, and we are wanting to throw a party for them. They currently live in Shawnee, so we're looking for venues around there. We're looking for something for roughly 50 people or so, where we can have alcohol and dance.

I grew up in Ada, so I'm not very familiar with the Shawnee area. I would appreicate any suggestions! Thank you in advance!

Re: Party venue suggestions

  • I don't know if we have many Nesties familiar with the Shawnee area either. Just wanted to let you know in case you don't get many replies. Good luck!

  • I'm very familiar with Shawnee, but I can't think of a place that fits your criteria....

I would try the Firelake Grand Casino.  They have several meeting/reception rooms and an event center.  You could have a mini-"wedding reception" type of event there... and guests will have a fun place to stay the night.  :)  E-mail is info@firelakegrand.com.  Good luck and happy planning!

Great idea! They can definitely hold that many people and they allow drinking in their event rooms, not sure about the dancing though.
  • If the casino doesn't work could you try a masonic lodge? I know nothing about the Shawnee area other than the OBU campus. Sorry!
