What is the best way to transport them so that the frosting doesn't get all smooshed?
I have one of those carrier things but it only holds 12. I can't just make 12 for my niece's b-day party so I need to find some other way.
I was thinking of just using the cupcake tins but then realized that it would be tough to take them out of the slots w/o causing finger prints on the iceing.
The party is at a hall and they don't have that much time to get ready. So, I don't want to go there and try to frost them then.
Does anyone have any suggestions/tricks?

Re: Transporting Cupcakes
I have this cupcake carrier

if you don't want to go buy a new cupcake carrier, you can go to like Michaels of Hobby Lobby, they usually have cupcakes boxes like they use at bakeries - have dividers that will keep them from running into each other, but is tall enough that the icing won't get smooshed. They are pretty inexpensive.
I have one similar to Neuners.
I've brought cupcakes to work, and my boss calls my carrier the cupcake condo. haha.

does that have like 4 tiers?! Where is that from?
I have the same one as Smo, in Tiffany blue.
Neuner, it has 3 trays, so it holds 36 cupcakes. It also has an awesome snap in place lid. And there's a bit of room underneath if you want to add sprinkles or some extra decor later- I usually stash sparkling sugar underneath mine in a tiny ziploc container.
I got it for my birthday, but my mom bought it on Amazon.

Stand up for something you believe in.
Oooh, snazzy color Mary. I love it.
I got my carrier at my bridal shower, but it was from BBB. I just checked their site, they didn't have it.
I googled 'cupcake caddy' and the same one came up with a few places to purchase from.
Mrs. Mo, I agree about the boxes. Also maybe using some plastic grocery/shopping bags to mold spacers?

and here I thought I was so happy with mine. I want that one!
Wow ! I wish I knew about this a few weeks ago ! I think I'll order one for future use.
