Dinner ?

Do you cook dinner every night or does your husband or do you just grab whatever? How often do you go out during the week for dinner?

Re: Dinner ?

  • Ugh this is embarrassing but I rarely cook. I probably cook once every two weeks. We usually just grab whatever. We eat out maybe once a week and by that I mean we grab and bring home. We don't dine out too often.

  • What do you grab, like cereal or just whatever is in the fridge? I'm just wondering cause Chris or I cook every night(I do during the week and him on weekends) and he thinks everyone does this and I was like a lot of people I don't think personally do.
  • Cereal sometimes. Once in a while we'll each make our own thing on the foreman grill...like he'll make himself a steak and I'll make a piece of chicken or fish. Sometimes I have breakfast for dinner...like eggs and toast. Sometimes we make frozen pizza or frozen chicken tenders. He also likes to buy lunch meat and make gigantic sandwiches. It's terrible. I'm a horrible wife.

  • I cook Sunday-Thursday nights. We usually go out to dinner on Fridays. I have no idea what we do on Saturdays. We'll get takeout and pizza a lot. DH's friend almost always comes for dinner on Sunday so it is usually a nicer meal with dessert.

  • We split cooking for the most part.  It really depends on Drew's schedule since he works during dinner.  Most of the time he can come home, but on the days that he's really busy, he'll usually grab McDonald's because it's really close to the airport.  Sometimes, I'll go meet him and the rest of guys for dinner someplace.  Since he's been on his "diet", he's been trying to eat out less.

  • Generally I cook 4 nights a week because I'm home, two nights I work and DH is one his own (I brown bag), and DH usually has something he wants to make once a week.

  • I am actually pretty bad at cooking, DH primarily does all cooking and most of the laundry. We don't really eat out much anymore.

  • We cook most nights.  It varies on who cooks.  It's usually whichever one has an idea for dinner or gets home first.  We go out to eat maybe once a week.  We used to go out a lot more but now with DH's commute he doesn't want to go anywhere once he gets home.  We order take-out once or twice a week, usually Friday or Saturday night.

  • I rarely cook, Andrew does the cooking for the family. He is more creative when it comes to dinners for the three of us and I would just cook the same things over again. This week I cooked dinner two times and ordered out on Tuesday. We tend to eat out for lunch or dinner once or twice a week. I would like for us to cook more, but really I would be happier if Andrew brought his lunch to work instead of buying almost every day.

  • DH cooks dinner every night - he loves cooking & everything culinary related... he claims that cooking after work is how he unwinds. I cook on the evenings that he's running late so that he's not starving when he gets home. His cooking is much, MUCH better than mine.

We eat out mainly on the weekends.

  • DH cooks M-Th, but I do the meal planning.  With me working 10 hour days and then going to yoga, it's often 745 when I get home.  So if I plan it, he'll cook it.  Usually every other week or so on Thursdays we'll decide to do takeout that I pick up after class.

Fridays and Sundays are my cooking days.  Since I'm off on Friday I'll try and make something a bit nicer than normal.  Sundays I usually make a bigger meal so Monday can be leftovers.

    Saturdays we eat out.

  • I normally cook something on Sunday or Monday that will last us most of the week. I might also cook on the weekend. We go out to eat once a week, maybe twice if we go to lunch on my day off.

  •  One of us cooks, as long as both of us are home. And then about twice a week we'll order pizza or go out for dinner, cause we're lazy. When dh is working I'll eat leftovers, cereal, bagels, or cook up some pasta.

The cooker depends on what's being made... or who's feeling the least lazy.

  • I cook everynight, it might not be amazing everynight. But its something hot and you can eat it. I dont know if I would want to try DH's version of cooking.... We only eat out twice a month.

  • We cook 2-3 meals a week, and 90% of the time each meal is enough for two meals (tacos, meatloaf, turkey burgers, chicken, etc.).  Then we fill in the other days with either single-night meals (pierogies, Bobolis, breakfast for dinner, etc) or grabbing take out/eating out.

Most of the time Darren has started cooking when I come home and then we cook together.  Back when I used to go to the gym :-/ Darren would usually have dinner ready when I got home.
