I read that this winter storm affected 1/3 of the United States!!! Just wondering if anyone had Death Storm or Snowpocalypse -as they called it here- stories to share? Photos?

Oh yea, ice is never good, though. Even if it does look really pretty.
I've had to un-bury my car twice. Wednesday and this morning, too. Luckily, a random guy taking his trash out pushed me out this morning so I could head to work. It was very nice of him. The roads were bad, not impossible, so I thought I would be okay. Wrong! I cross the I74 bridge between IL and IA everyday for work, with half the state doing the same thing. Without any warning, I came up on a huge line of traffic. Just sitting there. Ugh. There isn't another way for me to cross the Mississippi, so just had to sit with everyone else. I think it's because the bridge is narrow and gets icy/windy. Sighhhh One hour and 7 minutes later, I finally made it to the office. My drive is all of 5.7 miles.
Hmm, I tried replying to your post last night, but it didn't show up
It seems like the blowing and drifting must have hit everyone pretty bad. I think it was the worst, most dangerous part of the storm. I have never seen it like that in town before, I don't even want to know how bad all the county roads were. I think visibility was around 2 tenths of a mile when I drove home from work - and that was around 3:00! I am really glad all you girls stayed safe and sound!
