So after you posted about your fondue party this weekend, I decided to make some last night...and it was AMAZING! I know you said you were going to make it with a white wine, but this one I did with a red (I used a merlot) was delicious...I dare say the best one I've ever had!
Taste being subjective, of course!
I used better quality ingredients than I would normally have on hand for everyday use and I think it really made a difference... It calls for roasted garlic, but that is really easy...and fun! It was gorgeous too, the color of the merlot and the yellow cheese blended beautifully! None of the main ingredients overpowered the others. I used torn french bread, cut carrots, cut celery, red grapes, and fuji apples for dipping...we liked the bread (of course), apples, and grapes the most, but the carrots and celery were good too...even though they sound weird. ![]()
So if you decide to do more than one fondue this weeked, I recommend this one!! ![]()

Oh and here is a pic of the setup I did...next time I'll organize a little better and make sure to take a pic of the actual product!
...and make sure to get rid of the counter junk for photo purposes!! haha. (I had a couple glasses of wine at this point!) HA.

Have fun this weekend! Fondue is so much fun to make and share! ![]()
P.S. I forgot to do the pepper flakes. . .I know it's a different flavor, but I ground a little black pepper instead.
Re: Dyork, re: fondue!
After seeing this photo, I'm pretty sure I'm going to try and do a fondue set up for a little gathering we're having at our place next weekend.
ps. Your kitchen looks amazing!
AGREED! <drool>

And a red wine fondue sounds delicious. I'll have to add your recipe to the list. Dave was upset that he was missing all the goodness tonight so I promised we'd have fondue soon. He'd probably really enjoy the red wine one since he's big on that.
Also your kitchen looks awesome. I love your counter tops.
