What happens at a job screening cognitive test?
What kinds of things are asked?
Re: What happens at a job screening cognitive test?
When I had mine, I first had to complete a personality test which consisted of 500+ true or false statements about myself. Some of them were really bizarre like "I am often constipated" and others were more direct like "I have enjoyed using drugs." After 500+ of these statements, many of which were very repetitive, it became clear to me that the test was also measuring my honesty. I answered the questions honestly and consistently and I "passed" enough to get the job. However, after the questionnaire, I had to meet with a psychologist who basically just asked me about what I thought were the biggest problems in my life at this time. It was intense, but since I was honest and had a good idea of what was too much information to share, I did fine.
I don't know if yours is going to be anything like mine, since mine was more about my personality than my cognitive abilities. Good luck!
I just took one today for the 1st time. It consisted of many multiple choice scenarios relate teaching scenarios and philosophies about education.
It was a bit nerve wracking because the questions were so subjective. I also couldn't see my final result. So, I'll know if I passed the screening based on if principals call me for interviews.
I feel like I'm in limbo.
Good luck! I hope you hear back soon!
I'm nervous that I'll do well on everything and then my cognitive test will come back and say I'm stupid and then I won't get hired.
