Resume Question
Do you list your dates of employment on your resume? I've googled it and places say do both. 1: to show no gaps in employment or 2: it may give the impression that you are job hopping.
When I list dates, it does seem like I'm hopping, but my last 5 jobs go back into college days when PT, temp employment was normal. Also, I work seasonal for a formal wear company and worked in a summer temp PCA position, which I just list at "other employment."
I'm applying for a nurse position, so I'm not sure how much they need to know that I managed a restaurant and do customer service for tuxes. But, I learned valuable skills in both jobs that I use as a nurse....
Currently, I have the dates out. Should I change it? If so, to what?

I think you can leave those two jobs off of your resume. I worked in a Deli and learned a lot about customer service which has helped me with teaching but really is totally irrelevant on a resume. My resume is strictly teaching related.

I put on the dates (I think there is a year gap when I went back to nursing school, which is covered by one of those odd jobs).
I just elaborated on my nursing job, social work, and EMT job.
I despise these automated resume systems (although I'm sure it is much easier for HR people) and miss the days you could call HR and talk to someone and your interest level or walk in and convince them to give you an interview!
I put all strictly relevant experiences (school jobs, guidance subbing etc) on my resume, I also have my current employer down, so they see while I'm not in a school, I"m still employed currently.
However I do have a tiny disclaimer lower, that states other employment information available on request, which is my time at DSW, lane bryant, babysitting, kay jewelers, etc
