Hello - I'm looking for stores that I can buy vintage (or vintage looking - could be modern!) clohting, and I prefer something that isn't too expensive. I posted the following on the F&B board and they were very helpful, but I figured I'd try here too to see if anyone had some local store recommendations;
I've recently come to the realization that 90% of my closet consists of black and white, and of that 90%, most of it is basic stuff like tees, black pants, etc. While I find nothing wrong with basic, I think it's time for me to spruce things up...
I love love love the style of Emma on Glee, so I think if I had to pick someone to model after, she'd be it. I love the vintage but not too overly vintage or costumey look she wears. I love how she incorporates color. And overall, I love the ladylike look, the skirts, the cardigans, everything.
Store suggestions in the twin cities? Thanks!
Re: Vintage clothing in twin cities?
I like Sophie Joe's, The Mall of St Paul and the St Paul Retro Loop stores. There are also some local bloggers who are having a pop-up sale next weekend.
Good quality vintage clothing isn't going to be super cheap, so if you are looking to save money you can check out thrift stores and estate sales. It takes a lot more time than going to a vintage shop, but you can find better deals sometimes.
Here's a link to a bunch: http://www.alishops.com/twincitiesstoresandshops.asp?sort=Vintage
I've never been but a friend gets super cute clothes from Lula in St. Paul.
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
