nail and hair salons in North Dallas

Hi, y'all. My name is Courtney. I am a grad student in west Texas right now, and I'm about to go on an internship in Dallas. I want to get my nails done before my first day, but after I move into my apartment, so I'm in desperate need of a good nail salon rec. Also, I anticipate needing a haircut while I'm there. What's your favorite hair salon? What is the approximate price point for a hair cut? I'd like to stay somewhat close to my home/job, but I'd be willing to venture out further for a really great and reasonably priced salon. I'll be in north Dallas.

TIA!

  • Welcome to Dallas! You'll love it.

My recs are going to be in the Park Cities area of Dallas, but I highly recommend them!

I get my hair cut at Halo Salon on Henderson. Typhany is amazing. I think she charges anwyhere from $45-$65 a cut, but it's totally worth it.

For nails, I really like Jannie Nails on Mockingbird. It's your typical nail salon, nothing fancy, but they do a great job and it's $35 for a mani/pedi.

Let me know if you need any other suggestions! I've lived here most of my life and love it.

  • Thanks so much! I lived in Dallas until seventh grade, and I made a lot of trips there for shopping and eating before returning to Texas for college (my family moved to a state that does not understand the meaning of Tex Mex and has horrible shopping), but I haven't spend more than 3 or 4 days there in a long time, so I know nothing about the every day type stuff you need, like what grocery stores are the best or which dry cleaners does the best job.
  • Hi!  I don't have a great nail rec but I do love my hair salon, Tangerine Salon.  Its an Aveda salon w/ locations in Highland Village, Coppell and others.  The thing I love most about the salon is they are open on Sundays so that helps me get in during the weekend when I can't get in during the week bc of work.  I normally always get a cut and partial highlight and its around $125.

     Welcome back and good luck!
