Background: We were hit by the "snowacolypse" starting Tuesday night. At 9pm our power went out. I had been texting my mom about the storm b/c my hometown was also hit...so here's part of our text "convo":
Me: "$hit, we just lost power!!"
Mom: "are you guys going to be okay"
Me: "Yah, we have candles lit and flashes. But w/no tv or wireless, we're going to get bored fast"
Mom: "The best thing do now is to just snuggle up and try to make some babies"
Me: "Mom, ew! Can't believe u'd say that. We are definitely not doing that"
Mom: "Okay, I know I know, but wait untill Nov 1, there will be a baby boom. When people have nothing else to do, they have sex"
haha, my mom is SO bizarre! Needless to say, we lost power for 7 hrs. We drank 2 bottles of wine, had adult time and played cards until I had enough red wine to pass out.
Re: Would you be mortified if your mom said this to you?
haha...not with my mom. I'm pretty used to her comments like that.
glad you made a bad situation fun though!

Haha that's awesome. I wouldn'y be too mortified, but that's just my mom. She's actually really quiet around most people, but she gets a kick out of saying shocking things to the family. When DH & I were at her house for Christmas, I made some awesome rum punch & said, "Hey Mom, come check out this concoction." Her response was, "Sara, don't say ***. It's not ladylike. Muahahahaha!"
Oh Moms!
ten-tenners' may siggy: me & mama on my wedding day
What's LittleMissNewlywed Cooking?
That's nothing... I told my mom after Zumba the other night that I MIGHT be KU and she started screaming and skipping around the gym... so not subtle mom, so not subtle. She wants a grandchild and makes NO attempt to hide it lol.
LMAO that is too funny. My mom says whatever comes to mind and sometimes its just things you dont want to hear...lol
And I totally cant wait to see how many babies show up in about 9 months...lol
I sure do love my mama, though
