I work at a fairly informal firm and we're permitted to wear jeans on Fridays. I overheard two secretaries at my firm talking about my "Friday" outfit today. Apparently my sporty look is cute, but they don't think it's professional enough. I have on jeans, a modest long-sleeved sweater, and black tennis shoes. Earlier in the day I was wearing a lightweight North Face jacket. All of my clothing is clean and in good repair. I find the critique hilarious because they both have visible tattoos, one has a facial piercing, and the other is dating an attorney here. I think my outfit should be the least of their worries. This picky little cr*p goes on all day long and you'd think people would just do the job they're paid to do and just leave other people alone. I try to keep my nose to my work and let the nonstop henpicking roll off my shoulders.

Good for you! It does sound petty of them. We have one lady at our office that is the gossip QUEEN and thinks shes the best dressed (which she does have good taste) but she also has camel toe quite often. It's bad and hard not to notice!
They're truly the models of professionalism themselves, huh?
