OK, so we didn't prep for the fair last night.

We went to the brewery instead. We're such bad kids. And I had a total pita of a closing yesterday afternoon, not one bit of it went smoothly, so E got to be DD. I had 3 pints of their Wee Heavy winter seasonal, at 8.3% alcohol. Woo, was I *happy*. No hangover, I don't get those, but getting up for work this morning *sucked*.

Re: OK, so we didn't prep for the fair last night.

  • glad you had a good night!

i'm working this am, too. ugh!

  • I just wish I'd had a second coffee before meeting with the DWI client who thinks "but I really need my job!" means somehow that the laws don't apply to him. No, the case cannot be dismissed because you're ex-military, because you pay child support, or because you have a CDL. You blew over the legal limit. You ARE losing your license unless I can find something mechanically wrong with the alcotest, which is highly unlikely. No one told you to drive after five beers. Stop whining. Ugh.
  • Beer sounds really good right now.

I'm at work too.  Sitting in a basically empty theatre, just being here "in case".  I hate opera season.

  • In case of what?!  Sheesh.

Come visit, we'll get you beer.  We brought Meg (the dog) too, she was SO HAPPY.  She made a zillion new friends.

  • So, the Opera doesn't have performances every day, but they have access to the building (they have an office here, and wardrobe needs to work) pretty much every day during their season.  Today, the side of the building with the offices and dressing rooms is open, so that people can get in to work.  Someone from my department has to be here in case something happens and we are needed.  Today, it's me.  It's a good time to get paperwork done and stuff, but I hate it so much when it's a weekend, and DH is at home and I could be there with him.
  • Sounds like last night was a success, then.

I used to have to enforce rules on special people like DWI guy (this was when I lived on a ship - there were a lot of rules). You know, the ones who have a special situation, extenuating circumstances. And it's only this one time...Nope, sorry. Everyone's special, and the rules apply to everyone.
