Poll: Celebrating Valentine's Day
Do you and your DH celebrate Valentine's Day??
[Poll]
Re: Poll: Celebrating Valentine's Day
We're pretty low key. We usually do a nice dinner, but really b/c it's an excuse to try a new place or try making something new. We usually don't do it on V-day itself, usually the following week.
I usually get DH a card, but no gift. DH usually offers sex as his gift ( I never get a card or a gift, and really the sex isn't different than any other day of the week.
Sometimes we'll go out for dinner on a totally different night. The day of we might have some champagne or wine, but usually nothing special. Lately no gifts b/c we'd rather spend the $ on food or alcohol!
This year I have class on Valentine's day. How romantic! lol
I choose yes but we stay at home. In our area the restaurants get super crowded/booked up on Valentines day so we choose to stay home and cook a meal we don't normally eat. We also eat at the table which we rarely do. This year is a cheese fondue with some type of home made dessert.
We try to get each other cards and a small gift but it's not a big deal if we don't get them. We just like to spend the time together.
Valentine's Day is cursed for us. In the almost ten years we have been together, any plans we make to go out have fallen through! So, I usually just make a special meal for us at home...
Other - we typically just stay in because V-Day is just an excuse for local restaurants to upcharge everything and call it a "special dinner for two." No gifts are expected - but I did get DH a card.
And we'll probably make a dinner from scratch instead of our normal 'heat and serve' dinners from TJs. I found a dessert mix today. We'll make it work.
