Ok, so we all know she flubbed the national anthem. She's a moron & it's embarrassing, but I don't think anyone is really THAT surprised that she's not a shining example of an intelligent American. Everyone apparently is pissed she blew the anthem, so there's not much I can say that hasn't already been said.
Luckily, this post isn't about that. This is me, bringing the snark. While DH was swearing about how dumb she is, I was cringing from the combination of her SCREECHING and making horrible faces. Faces like this.

Oh heyyyyy pretty!

Re: Christina Aguilera
I literally just said that to DH- I missed the first half of the superbowl because I was at work. So I had to google it. I was just watching it and was like. she is losing her voice that gross screeching is disgusting. And wtf is with her face..
and then I hop on the nest. haha.
Flubbed words aside...her self indulgent rendition was a DISGRACE!!!!!!!!!!

I did not watch the Superbowl last night so I missed it, but I did want to say this:
I am a professional singer and as a professional singer there are certain songs you are just expected to know. The National Anthem is one of them. She should know that song so well that she could do it in her sleep. Speaking from experience if you have practiced your song as much as you should for a public performance even if you blank out in the middle of it the words will just come out because of practicing so much. Trust me...been there, done that.
So just my two cents for what it's worth

I am not a professional vocalist, but I have recorded and performed professionally from time to time, and I also perform with my church praise band every week, so from a performer's standpoint, I completely agree with you. I'm not saying it was professional or appropriate. As a matter of fact, I think it was terrible to the nth degree.
Maybe I should clarify...
Those who are calling her a "bad American" and even "sacrilegious" for messing up the words, should be required to be able to recite the song from memory themselves before being allowed to speak up.
From a performance standpoint, however, please feel free to blast the crap out of her!
Forget even being a professional singer who got paid good money. How about just being an American citizen?!? Hello, it's our National Anthem. It's one of those things, I believe, ALL citizens are expected to know. Yes, every word by heart without looking them up.
I know it's a lot of pressure though, but seriously, it's the Super Bowl. I'm curious to see if she addresses this and what creative celebrity excuse she's going to blame the flubb on.

I gotcha! I agree with what you are saying
