Hey girls!

Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I know I've been missing lately. We moved in to our new apartment on Saturday, and we have no internet connection yet. I opened my laptop to find a document, and it sniffed out an unlocked wireless signal. WOOHOO! And it's really fast. I wonder who the provider is because Time Warner was never this fast.. and I don't see FiOs anywhere..

Anyway. The new place is AWESOME! It's smaller than our last place, but the last place was too big anyway. The cats seem much happier in here. I think the last place scared them. SO far, no annoying neighbours! We're the newest people in the building. There are 6 apartments here. The ground floor is occupied by 2 old ladies who have been here since the 50's. Next door has been here 10 years, and upstairs has been here 13 and 17 years... It gives me a good feeling! lol

Unpacking hasn't even gotten into full swing yet. Most of our clothes are still in suitcases, my kitchen is about 1/2 unpacked, the livingroom and library haven't even seen an opened box yet. Part of the problem is trying to find where everything will go. I"m off today, so I'll probably get some stuff done.. But it's a beautiful day, and I want to explore my new neighbourhood! I just need to get it unpacked soon bc I'm tired of boxes. YUCK! lol

I'll try to swipe a signal again and get on soon! Hope everyone is well :)

Re: Hey girls!

  • That's great news. Congrats on the move.  You're still in Manhattan, right? (I think you were in Manhattan.  But now that I'm thinking about it are you in Brooklyn?)

  • I'm glad the move went well and you like your new apartment!
  • Glad you're liking the new place!  Having neighbors that have been there awhile seems like a good sign too...hopefully you won't have any issues with them.  Good luck with the unpacking!
  • We made the move into Brooklyn. We're so much happer here. It's quiet for the most part. It's a bit odd hearing next door... since they're in another building! I'm told this is normal lol Still, anything is better than the nightclub we used to live under.. and the landlord promised us "no kids" in the building. Sorry mommies, but running monsters are a nightmare when you're under them!
  • Thanks for checking in! Your new place sounds lovely, glad the cats like it :-) We're also mid-move, I'm checking in here between un-packing, laundry and dishes. Can't wait until it's all done!

  • I definitely feel your pain with the unpacking. I plan on making J do the rest of it. He left a box by the bedroom door which, in normal cases, wouldn't be so bad. Except for here the walkway into the next room is the width of the door.. I slammed my foot into the box, resulting in me refracturing/rebreaking my foot. I will use the guilt of this accident to get out of unpacking the rest of the house! LOL

(oh, I'm pretty much fine BTW. I've reinjured it a few times.. nothing they can do apparently to stop it from happening again... since there's no "anti-klutz" medicine LOL)

  • Glad the move went well and that you like the place. I think it speaks volumes that there are so many long term tenants.
