Hey ladies, I've been kind of MIA because of work and school getting in the way of me having a life. Now (thankfully) my big projects are over, and I've undertaken a new one for myself. I am volunteering with a non-profit organization in Buffalo that takes at-risk kids in a couple of times a week and teaches them Tae Kwon Do. It's a great program, gives kids from rough neighborhoods a chance to be challenged and educated in a safe environment, and the guy who started it is amazing.
I am trying to help them out with fundraising, but I don't know the Buffalo area that well. I'd like to be able to schedule demo's of the kids practicing at different venues, but don't know where to start. Buffalo ladies, any ideas?
Or other fundraising ideas in general? They can't really go door-to-door where they live and ask for pledges or sell candy, so that limits the typical kid-stuff that I thought of. TIA!
Re: Buffalo/WNY Fundraising?
I know around here, there are a couple of restaurants that particiapte in fundraising activities (Pizzeria Uno, Tullys, Cam's Pizzeria) - where anyone who comes in with/for a particular group on an off night (a Monday or Tuesday, usually).. the restaurant will donate 10% of their tabbackto the charity.
For example: Pizzeria Unos - Monday night fundraising for Tae Kwon Do
Any family goes in and says they are there for a the fundraiser. Family spends $100 on dinner/drinks, etc. Pizzeria Uno donates $10 to Tae Kwon Do.
