Skinny jean enthusiasts, come in please

I need boot + skinny jean help.

I bought some boots similar to these over the holidays. Slouchy, mid-calf, the buckle is around the ankle, not the top.

They look great with dresses and with leggings, but I'm wondering about taking the skinny jean plunge. Would something like this work with skinny jeans. I feel like I see skinny jeans worn with taller, less of a heel boot. What say you? Should I take the skinny jean plunge? Does it matter that I'm pretty sure the boots would fit tighter with the jeans under them?

  • CUTE.  Yes, skinny jeans will work with this for sure.  Go for it.

  • I bought some "skinny" jeans yesterday. They're kinda like jeggings. I am the opposite of "skinny" but I'm looking forward to being able to wear boots like that.

Ditto.  I would probably go for a more structured skinny jean than a jegging with those boots, but it'll be cute!

I have seen a lot of skinnies at Marshall's and TJMaxx lately.

Can you give me an example of a structured skinny jean? I'm a Levi's girl and these will be the first pair of non boot cut jeans I've bought in probably ten years... I need all the help I can get.

Just not jeggings.  (I still can't get on the jegging bandwagon... and seeing someone this weekend that looked horrible in them did not help.)  A real jean.  Made out of denim.  Just skinny.  You'll love them!  They're great with flats and boots and tunics and jackets and sweaters and sandals and hoodies and lots and lots of stuff.

ETA: A real denim jean can still have a lot of stretch.  Stretch is your friend. :)  For example, these.

  • I agree, do it! The only thing I can recommend is going with, again, one that isn't a jegging, but one that does have some stretch.  You'll be way more comfortable.:)

ETA:  JUST what austinbride said on the stretch.:)
