**sigh**
FIL has H all worked up about getting insurance to pay for our leaking roof and the damage. I told him that I talked to insurance a year ago and that the damage wasn't enough to claim but that they put a note on our file. FIL says that insurance is dicking us around. I'm not so sure.
I'm dumb when it comes to insurance.
Here is what would need to be replaced/fixed:
Dormers and chimney flashed
Insulation in walls and attic area
New ceiling in living room
One new wall in living room
Do I need to get a quote from all different people that would fix this stuff?? Like a drywaller, a roofer, etc.
Re: Insurance Claims
hire a contractor who will get bids for you, that way you are dealing with one person and it is MUCH less leg work for you.
Sometimes insurance companies have contractors who they work with and will pay direct. Other times they cut the check to you and have you pay the contractors/service providers yourself.
GL.
We had damage last year due to all the rain.
We called our insurance company, they sent someone out, who determined what needed to be done/what was covered.
They hired the contractors, paid them. We paid the contractors our deductible.
Call your Insurance company, let them handle it.
