It finally happened. (well, actually years ago I recognized mrswright07, but that's okay. I had no worries that we both were on these boards).
Moments ago I stumbled across a post on a national board from a woman I went to high school with. I was thinking about the likelihood of this a few days ago and now it has happened. I've always disliked that I used me real name on here, but she didn't even have her real name anywhere. I recognized her from her sig picture. She even has a blog that I'm tempted to scroll through, but that would make me feel creepy. haha
I'm just sort of in shock that my nest world and real life have finally collided. Booooo.

It has happened quite a bit for me.. so weird

I had my real life and nest collide - via my DH, but it's one I do not mind at all. There is a nestie/bumpie he grew up with on here and she recognized him from my blog, but did not say anything until I did.
I'm glad that he knew her and I finally got to meet her.
I had that happen to me; I was the one who got recognized by a pic of me and DH in my siggy.
Now, the person who found me is totally cool, and so I don't mind. But I immediately took that picture down, and won't put another one in where you can see faces. It just kinda creeps me out even though I understand everything on here is totally public domain.
Exactly how I feel. I don't even talk about anything private on here, yet I still get weirded out thinking someone that recognizes me could be reading my posts without my knowledge. Overtime I've taken down a lot of identifying information (blogs and pictures) which I have always enjoyed sharing since I'm so uncomfortable with it. I think I've actually avoided people for this long because I got married so young. But now that I'm in my mid-twenties, I think I'll come across more people.
I think there should just be an unstated rule that everyone should let the other poster know they have been recognized.
