Female problem--BV

So, a few months ago, I thought I was getting a yeast infection. Went to the doctor, and he told me it was bacterial vaginosis (a type of bacterial infection--not an STD). Yuck! Anyway, He prescribed an antibiotic suppository that I used for a week. He wrote a few refills on the Rx because he said that it would likely come back a couple times. Well, it did come back a couple weeks later. I saw another doctor at this time who also prescribed an oral pill to get rid of it (took both pill and suppository). This seemed to do the trick. Haven't had any problems since, but I'm worried I might get it again.

Do any of you ladies know what I'm talking about (bacterial vaginosis, that is)? Have any of you had this? If so, any thing insightful you could share with me, like ways to prevent it from coming back? I'd really appreciate any comments on this because I'd never heard about BV until I came down with it.

Thank you so much!!!!
