How is this different from regular yogurt? What does it taste like? Should I try it? I don't get all the hype.
Re: Greek yogurt
it is a TON thicker than regular yogurt, i think it has more protein, and i think it's way more tangy than regular yogurt.
i'm not a huge yogurt fan, but i like it for things like dip where the extra watery-ness of regular yogurt is not a good thing.
it's not also not available in the milliondy-jillion flavors that regular yogurt is.
This! Although you can find some mild greek yogurts if you prefer. They drain it longer, which gets rid of more of the liquid and makes it thicker. It usually has more protein and probiotics, and less sugar and it's oh so good!
Awesome for protein. Took me a while to warm up to it.
I love it. Plain is a good sub for dips instead of sour cream, vanilla or fruit is good in smoothies (my latest obsession).
guess i should keep trying. i've had it twice and, unfortunately, i'm not a fan. what brands do you all recommend?
I just saw that Dannon has some with blueberries in it, which looked good. That's why I brought it up. Maybe try it with some fruit? I don't know, but I think I'm going to get some today to see what it's all about.
The Sand in My Snow Boots
If you have a Trader Joes, try that brand. It's pretty damn good. They have plain old honey/vanilla and I also like the apricot/mango. Awesome in smoothies.
Chobani has a lot of different flavors like pomegranite, honey/vanilla, strawberry/banana, strawberry, etc
If you like smoothies, use 1/2 a container of greek yogurt, about a handful of frozen fruit (e.g. strawberries & blueberries), splash of OJ, a drop of honey and blend.
So good...and good protein.

love this!
