I tried to find the old post.....
I know a while back we had a post where people gave the goods and the bads of the photo book companies (picaboo, mixbook, shutterfly, etc). I did a search and nothing is coming up and frankly I don't have time right now to look through pages of old posts.
So can you ladies once again give me recommendations on what site to use or can someone who is bored find the post?
TIA! You girls rock!
Re: I tried to find the old post.....
I ordered a book from shutterfly and was very happy with the quality of it, especially for the price. I haven't used any of the other companies, but will be using shutterfly again for a project I am working on for my BFF. I know Montana used a comp[any that she gave rave reviews to (supposedly coffee table quality) but I can't remember the name of it, just that it was a touch expensive.
Montana used Blurb, which I've seen a book a book before (my friend had one done and showed it to me). It looks great!
I've used AdoramaPix, probably the highest costing for not being professional, and yet it is the most professional book I've ever seen that wasn't done through a "professionals only" company. They do lay flat binding, and the pages are like really hard, kind difficult to describe, but you could spill your drink on them and just wipe it away, they're not like regular paper.
I did a giant 76 page 10x10 "life" book for Scots parents for christmas. It was like $140 I think. I'm going to do our wedding photos through them too. A little high end for non-professionals, but worth the couple extra dollars if you have it.
I have used shutterfly, picaboo and blurb most recently.
Shutterfly is great for the price. We use it when we make books for the grandmas.
Picaboo is also another great company and we were extremely happy with how our books that we made of Logan turned out for the grandparents. I liked how you could play with the formats and there were a ton of choices.
Blurb is the company that we used to make our big book of L and it is AWESOME. Def on the expensive end of things but it really was coffee table quality. There are alot of options as far as book size, price, paper quality and layouts. We will def use them again when we make our wedding book.
I know that Emily(Emdizzle) used Adoramapix (I think thats what it was called) and she loved them as well.
Let me know if you have any specific questions. :-)

This guy has made a fantastic review site. the link is to a synopsis, but you can page through to see detailed reviews of like 14 companies.
I've used Picaboo, Shutterfly and Snapfish <listed in order of preference, Snapfish being least recommended.
Picaboo is fabulous! We ordered 2 books for our parents from here and loved them. I also really like that you can design them via their program and not on the internet. Picaboo has 50% off books right now through 2/14. And they just decreased the price of their extra pages. It used to be $1.99 and is now $0.99, which is awesome since I have yet to order the book for DH & I! They also frequently have Groupons, $35 for $100 credit, but the downfall is that it cant be used with other promo codes, so you have to calculate what's a better deal for you. I will also say that I found their design program easy to work with. Unlike what I found with Shutterfly and Snapfish, you can select any color/picture for a page's background (in the other two I couldn't find a way to do this, I had to use one of their pre-designed templates)
Shutterfly is nice too, but overall I thought the Picaboo quality was much better. Good for the price though! And they have a lot of sales/discounts often.
Snapfish - my books from them were $hit. Maybe it was b/c it was the holiday season so they were produced in a rush, but I ordered 2 books from them. The pictures, even though they were the same files as I used on my Picaboo book, were not "crisp" and clear. They seemed somewhat fuzzy. On one of my books, the ink must not have been dry when the book was closed so ink from one page was pressed onto the adjacent page and it looks awful.
