I think someone recently posted about this, but I can't find anything....

One of my good friends is planning a baby shower for her sister and wants games. I offerred to send her the ones I used at my BFF's shower a few years ago, but they are gone from my computer.

I know we did one where there werea bunch of characteristics listed and then two columns at the top, one for the mom, and one for the dad, and people would have to check whether they thought the mom would like the baby to get that characteristic from her or from the dad. Then she answers what she thinks. Does that make sense? It was a fun game.

We also did a bingo, while she opened gifts. Everyone got a blank board and they filled it in with gifts they thought she'd get, then played bingo as she opened. I like this one a lot cause it makes watching her open the gifts not as boring.

Any other ideas? Please and Thanks!

Guess mommas belly size - use yarn

Clothespin game - Everyone gets a clothespin when they arrive at the shower. You can't say the word baby, if someone hears you they get your clothespin... whoever ends up with the most, wins.

I always love the guess mom's belly size because I usually win, lol!

I also like the word unscrambler. Once you know the answers it's so obvious, but it's always hard to figure them out on your own.

A tray will many baby related items show it to them for 45 seconds and see how many they can remember.

Another one that they did at a shower I recently went to was freeze mini babies ( cupcake decorations) and hang them. Have each person guess the time the 1st would be "born" (fall out of the ice)

I would be horrified if I were at a shower and any measuring of anything of a pregant woman were going on. HORRIFIED. You already run through all of the emotions as a pregnant woman, sometimes on a daily or hourly basis, and then that poor pregnant woman is supposed to reveal how big her belly is?! No, thank you very much with disdain on top.

You don't actually measure with #'s, you just take some sting/yarn, whatever and estimate how big she is round. It's really funny to see how big and how small people guess.

I'm surprised I don't find this game offensive because I get really irked when people ask me if I'm having twins. And then there was the comment from the man at UT about the quadruplets I was having. He told me he could catch them all in a net for me if I were to give birth right then and there. Indifferent

LoL, never being preg before I can't say how I'd feel about this game. I personally don't think I'd mind. I will be so happy to finally be KU that I will be proud of my big-ol-belly (or at least I think so now!), but I know some of my friends would hate it as well.
