Anyone working on any projects?

Since the wedding I have found that I am itching for another project to do.  I have been keeping myself occupised with making wedding picture collages, albums and putting up some decor items we received as wedding presents, but that is coming to an end.  Is anyone working on any projects?  Your projects may be able to inspire me with a project of my own :o)

Re: Anyone working on any projects?

  • One of my best friends is getting married in June and I am a BM so I am still engrossed in wedding projects.....volunteered to do the favors, invites (yay for vistaprint), and a photo board.

After that, my sister is getting married St. Patricks Day next year so she is starting to look for ideas so I am sure I will have projects since she is less creative and has no time.  I can't wait!

  • Like I've mentioned before we are in the process of redecorating our TV room, I think we will get it done this weekend!!!  Then I think I will start our wedding photobooks.

I also have my sister's baby shower I am planning at the end of March, but after doing our wedding that is a piece of cake!

  • My best friend, my sister, and my brother-in-law are all getting married in the next 4 months so I've been pretty immersed in wedding stuff still. I made cake toppers for both my sister and my BIL and I am currently working on a quilt guest book for my BFF like this one:

I'm working on some other stuff this weekend for my BFF's bridal shower as well.

  • Yeah my project is re-doing the house we just bought. We literally ripped the kitchen down to the sub flooring, we have a 2nd full bath that we're going to re-do, and we've been painting like crazy.

I've been trying to keep a blog posted up on top of it to keep my family members in the loop.

  • I'm currently trying to get photos framed and hung - like by Saturday for a party were throwing.

I'm so damn anal about photos and frames and the arrangement, I'm pulling my hair out.  I'm about 2/3rds done.  Only one arrangement that I haven't started (out of 5).

In the near future (like month) the hallway needs painted, then we move to the bedrooms... then it will be spring and I'll be in the garden - woot!

  • I have been searching diy blogs and such and wanting to get a house to decorate! I have lots of little crafty projects in the works.

I am also doing a beginning of the year clean out. (usually I'm done by now but now I have my stuff and DH's stuff to go through lol) combing every inch of the house for excess clutter and stuff I don't need getting ready for spring cleaning.

  • I think I'm going to attempt to sell some of my yarn wreaths at the spring craft fair here at work, maybe.  And if that goes well, I think I'll go ahead and open my etsy store too.  So, I'll be working on some of those soon.

  • Since the wedding, I have made several photobooks for others, but have yet to finish one for us, so I'm still working on that.

I've taken up reading again and joined a local TN book club (my first meeting is Friday actually; I missed out on the last one)

Other than that, I've done small projects like create my bios and try to document all of my DIY stuff.  I'm working on, slowly but surely, matting and framing some mementos of experience DH and I have shared.

I think I want to make a small lap quilt.  I made some 2 yrs ago as Christmas gifts and they were so fun.  As stupid as this sounds, I may make one for our dog, just kind of as something to do.  Plus then his bedding will match our room.

Here are some cute ideas of little projects: http://www.paper-source.com/cgi-bin/paper/howto/ideas/envaccordion.html

  • A friend from high school is due any time this month, so I've got a blanket in the works for her little one - 2 sided, with her name and (as soon as she gets here) birth date embroidered on one side. I'll put up pictures either here or Facebook when it's done.
  • We bought a 1910 stained glass chandelier. When DH installed it the battery fell out of the cordless drill and broke 4 panes. He knows how to do copper foil stained glass but I do not. At the store where we bought replacement glass they offer classes so he signed me up for a 5 night class - once a week for 5 weeks. i start on Thursday. We will fix the chandelier together. Then I have ideas on other stained glass projects for the house.

I haven't done anything about pictures from the wedding. I am still trying to collect some from friends. Last weekend we got the video from a friend and saw it for the first time.

We always have house projects: landscape the back yard, paint inside and out, redo gutters, etc.

Is she using the holiday as a jumping off point for a colour scheme?  I mean, leprechauns aren't romantic, but I LOVE kelly green and four leaf clovers.  Kind of a "Lucky in love" theme.  And post-St. Patty's Day this year would be a great time to pick up some decor cheap.

Allie and Hannah - I'm so jealous of your quilt making abilities.  One of my BMs said she wants to make us one, but honestly, I never see it happening.  Still, I kept pieces of all the fabric items we used  - a chair cover, the bench covers, an overlay, and I will add some of my dress once I can bring myself to ask the ML or the MIL to shorten it.  I need to get it shortened by summer, because I want to wear it at our camp week.  It's teenagers, so there's always a "fancy dinner."  I think it'll be cool to wear my dress again in the place we got married.

Susan - you're going to LOVE the class.  I did stained glass in highschool, and miss it very much.  My dream someday is to have a big workshop space for H and I to do our random projects.  I'd like to make long stained glass windows for either side of the front door we'll have some day :P

I bought all the pieces to make a necklace.  Kind of like these:

I couldn't find anything that was *just right* on etsy, so I decided I'd try to do one myself.  I've got a bunch of "antique" brass parts, and I just need to actually make it.  But I've never made jewelry like that, so I'm nervous.   So we'll see.
