i am uploading some pics on fb, but in the meantime i thought i would tell you about our trip because i know many of you have littles you would like to take there.
we stayed at the bay lake tower for 7 days. it was perfect for our needs. we had a 1 bedroom with livingroom and kitchen, wsher/dryer. its right in disney and on the monorail line. it also has a bus stop and a boat stop on the lake. we did not rent a car and had no need for one. at the hotel, they had crafts for the kids, pools, movies under the stars, marshmallows in the fire pit on the beach, boating, etc. if i did not want a kitchen or a bedroom i would have stayed at the grand floridian. its a beautiful hotel and is also right in disney.
parks: we did not buy a hopper pass and did not need it. we did one park a day and that was enough. we went to magic kindom two days. the girls loved it. the rides were great (we still had some longish lines- bummer). we took the kids on all of the classic rides, saw the parades, and just enjoyed the atmosphere.
one day we went to animal kindom. it was fine. beautiful park. a little boring in my book, but glad we went. girls loved the safari, the nemo show, and listening to ethinic music. thats really all there is for little , littles. my mom and chris liked the roller coaster - everest.
another day we did hollywood studios. i really liked it there. it was fun to walk around. they have a big honey i shrunk the kids playground which mila and isla loved. they also had the best shows! beauty and the beast, the little mermaid- broadway style. well worth the trip! chris and my mom loved the rock n roller coaster... my mom said she cried she was so scared on that one!
epcot- another one not to pass up. my girls liked the aquarium , and the finding nemo ride. they also liked the figment ride. there is a little imagination museum of sorts that they played in for awhile. plenty of things for them to do. they liked the contries, though we did not spend a ton of time in them because they were tired by that point.
downtown disney- lots of fun! carousel, little train for kids. shopping, restaurants, ice cream! we went on two nights.
food - we did not do the meal plan and i think we were fine. we had breakfast every morning in our room ( brought food and snacks). most days i packed lunches and two nights i cooked dinner (easy things mac cheese grilled cheese) . i really think we saved $ this way. most of the food is fast food like and honestly seemed hit or miss as of quality. there was a good restaurant in hollywood studios, a couple in downtown disney, and the breakfast at the castle was also good at mk. great breakfast at the floridian on the last day and a nice dinner at the wilderness lodge.
restaurant/shows- chef mickey - 5 stars! loved the characters- though my girls are still scared of them. great from a distance, fun music, good food, characters stop at every table.
breakfast with princess- 5 stars. this was at the castle and probably the best thing we did. my girls were head over heels and just beside themselves. it was "magical"
. great food.
dinner with belle at epcot- 3 stars. belle and princesses were great. food was gross at norway. dinner way too last for my little- no served until 7 pm!
hoop dee doo- 4 stars. think it would have been perfect if thery were a little older. it was at 6pm. girls were tired, and not into the show. we thought it was fun! food was ok, but loved the strawberry short cake.
all in all it was perfect. girls were great. weather was good. so glad we did it. every staff person referred to the girls as" princess", passed out stickers regularly, gave mila a new balloon when the one she had floated away. ittruly is magical... and i am NOT a disney person. i have to say one week there and i was ready to rock micky sweatpants and t-shirts , maybe a fanny pack. it sucked me in.
any other questions - just ask! ![]()
