  • We have the Bissell Pet Deep Cleaning Machine and I love it. I definately got my money out of it. We also have the Little Green for every day cleanup and we definately got our money out of it (especially since we have a dog with digestive problems!)

  • If I recall correctly, it came with some. I used that up then bought the Resolve made for carpet cleaners (I can't think of what the actual label says)

  • I have a Bissell from Costco. We've had it for years and love it. If you think you'll only need to clean your carpet a time or two then go for the store rentals. Otherwise put the money you'd spend on the rental toward purchasing your own. It will pay for itself after a couple of uses.
  • I love, love, love my Hoover SteamVac.  It has Spin Scrub Brushes to really get your carpets clean.  I highly recommend this extractor.  It works amazingly... : )

Also for spot cleaning we sell a ton on the Bissell Spot Bot.  Its great for maintaining your carpet between shampooing.  You just set it on the spill or stain and it does all the work for you! Heard great things about this little machine!

We sell both...here's the links if you want to check them out! Hope this helps!

  • Thanks for all the recs! I will be taking a trip to costco today :)

  • We have a Hoover Steam Vac, and I love it. It can do spot cleaning too because it has an upholstery attachment.

I do not recommend Rug Doctors unless you live in a rental and are only cleaning the carpet one time. They are heavy, and they don't do that good of a job. I recommend purchasing something you can use over and over again, and our Hoover does a way better job of cleaning than the Rug Doctor that I tried did.

  • We recently purchased the Hoover SteamVac and we love it. I bought it from Target when it was on sale. I was kind of surprised though because the cleaning solution was $20. In the long run though it will save us a lot of money in comparison to having someone come out and clean our carpets.

I don't use the chemical cleaning solution because if you don't get it all up it will attract more dirt. I use vinager and water, it smells as you do it but the smell goes away after the carpets dry and it is a natural way to disinfect and clean your carpets. I also recommend if you do use the cleaners that you run a cycle of just water after you finish to make sure you get all of the soap up.
