I just wrote hatemail to Groupon
Due to the massive ice and snow storms, I was unable to redeem a Groupon before it expired. Yesterday, I sent a request to have it refunded. Today they emailed me that they could post a credit to my account and asked how I wanted to proceed. Lose the money or receive credit? Hmmm...I just don't know.
I just sent an email back telling them that if that is the only option, then just process the credit but I would prefer a refund based on their poor judgment in marketing (aka the super bowl commercial fail). The email included a statement about how I do not plan to make purchases from Groupon at this point. Let's see what they come back with.

Re: I just wrote hatemail to Groupon
I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I think them giving you a credit is nice of them. It's not their fault that you weren't able to use the coupon - they really didn't HAVE to do anything for you.
I must not have seen their superbowl commercial... what was it?
Google has a million links to the uproar over their commercials.
AND, they actually do owe me. The vendor worked out an arrangement with them to issue refunds due to the inclement weather. The verdict is that they still only offered credit, but they tripled the value.
In a nutshell...
