Whose H was the beer maker?
I couldn't remember if it was Hannah or maybe Tisha??
Either way this was posted on the Pet board:
"DH uses a home brew forum and someone on there lost his dog this weekend
when she ate a bunch of hops, which are apparently pretty poisonous to
dogs. He wanted me to pass along the info. "
I was not aware of this, and its good to know.
Re: Whose H was the beer maker?
Oh man
I think it's Hannah? Scot homebrews too (I think we both got the husbands the equipment for christmas?) and he read up on the hops thing before he started the big process (the poison factor to dogs seems to be highlighted in a lot of the brewing manuals/books)... and he's super attentive as to how the hops are handled and disposed of so our dog doesn't get into them.
So sad
THANKFULLY Keith doesn't brew beer, because it stink to HIGH HEAVEN and I can't stand the smell of it brewing. But our good friend Mike (aka, Peanut's dad) does and Keith has helped him some. I'll make sure Mike knows about this. He's been brewing beer for a about 2 years now, so hopefully he already does. They have a teacup Chihuahua (Martini), so I'm sure it would take very little to make her sick or worse.
And just because I think boys are funny and I'll PIP anything...

Yep, my H does! Thanks for the info!! Scary stuff! Especially since our dog will eat about anything!
Side story: DH started brewing (and taking over our storage space as you'll see on Friday) all because of me. I remember being dreadfully hungover one Saturday last year, laying on the couch watching E! news. They had a segment on Vday gifts and a Mr. Beer Brewing kit was one idea, so I got it for DH. He actually used it until this Christmas when he upgraded to glass fermenters (instead of plastic). And now he's brewing about 1 batch a week. I think it was my most inspiring/best gift given to him yet. Haha.

Tisha! omg, I was ready to go stay at a friends house during the big boiling-brew step. I was so mad waking up in the morning and still smelling it on everything >:( Luckily it had faded away later the next evening, but still, it is rough!
It doesn't seem that bad at first, but then you just can't escape it!
I typically try to time it so that I do errands when DH brews!

lol OH Tisha you PIP W.
I figured the guys who are brewing must have stumbled across the warning that it's dangerous to dogs. But its better to be safe than sorry.
