Poll: How long did it take to get your formal offer after finding out you got the position?
I'm on pins and needles. Just curious. I found out on Thursday (informally), and no offer letter in my in-box as of yet.

Don't worry, I'm working on it.
Get it on!

My husband got a verbal offer and then a written offer (pdf) via email that same day or the next I believe. He then got the actual letter via mail within a week.
The last time I got an offer, they sent it to be via email (no verbal) and then mailed it.
Not yet. She just asked, "Do you just need to give the standard 2 week notice?" To which I replied, "Yes."
Don't worry, I'm working on it.

Hmm. Maybe you should follow up regarding your official start date because they may need that information to put on your formal offer letter. Do you have good faith in the new company that they won't rescind their verbal offer?
Oh god, I would hope not. Yes, they are a pretty established company. I was hoping not to have to contact them.

Mine took 8 months. But then, I was told that that's how the government works and I should suck it up. Between the formal offer and the salary negotiation to get to a start date, that was 6 weeks. SIX WEEKS. Don't work for the government if you want a job quickly...nobody else operates this ridiculously.
