Central Maine Ladies
Anyone care to recommend an honest, fair priced mechanic for me? I usually go to Evergreen Subaru in Lewiston, but hoping to find someplace closer (between Newport and Augusta) that I can start to use.

We have been using him for about 5 years and has never done us wrong. With as many car issues as we have had in the past 15 months, he has been very fair. Always a fair price and the work is guaranteed. AND....what he says is wrong, is what is wrong. So, if they fix the brake lines, then you are good to go. Except in my case when something else just goes wrong! haha
And, he was going was going to give us a super great price on a used car (he sells them too) until DH decided that the car wasn't the one for us (I knew it was, but DH doesn't listen! lol)
Oh, and they are in Augusta too, on State St, just past Pat's Pizza
I use Berube's on East Avenue in Lewiston. He's the only AAA-certified place in about 100 miles. He's never steered me wrong and has never over charged me for anything. Great customer service; explains the problem and how they're going to fix it. They always call me before doing any work I haven't already approved. They even caught something that was covered by my warranty that saved me (according to the dealer who fixed the issue under warranty) $4000-- and told me that it was still covered instead of doing the work themselves and pocketing the money.
Love them!
I have heard mixed reviews of Berube's in Lewiston.
We go to Poisson and Sons Citgo in Auburn, which may actually be farther away for you but I thought I would mention it because they are so honest and fair. They even put new tires on my car once in December and allowed me to pay when I got my tax return in March! A small family-owned business with great customer service!
