Lets try this again...

Ok so I was super excited all day today because our wedding album was scheduled to be delivered today - I couldnt wait to get my hands on it...

It arrives and I immediately start flipping through the pages, about halfway through the album I noticed that there was a yellowish area on one of the images - it looked like my dads shirt, and even tie were dirty with a yellowish tone, I looked closer and noticed his face was half yellow as well.  Weird.  I double checked it against the original image file and there is no yellow in the original at all.  I emailed the photographer asking if there was anything that could be done (these darn albums are super expensive)

Then tonight, my mom comes over to check out the album - as we're flipping through I was telling her how the photographer had blended two photos together to look as if they were one for both the father daughter dance spread, and the mother son spread - we flip past the first dance, then the mother son dance, and then it went to guests dancing, I backed up a few pages, moved forward a few pages - theres NO father daughter dance spread - the layout I approved had a whole spread for father daughter dance, now its not even in the book.  I have now emailed my photographer a second time letting him know we're missing a page - wish me luck ladies, I'm really hoping they will fix this without too much trouble.

Have any of you had any post wedding "mishaps"?

Re: Lets try this again...

  • Oh no!  That's so frustrating especially since you had approved the layout.  Our album is not a custom layout - just one picture per page.  I keep meaning to make a fancier albums (we have hi-res images and copyrights) but just haven't gotten around to it.  I hope the photographer can correct the yellow and somehow redo the album to get the extra page in.  Good luck!

And, to answer your question, no post wedding mishaps yet!

  • I still haven't heard back and I guess I'm a little nervous because its a flush mount album so there is no way to correct it, or add a page, without reprinting the whole album.

Here's hoping my photographer, or the album company (depending on who made the mistake of the missing page) will stand by their work and correct it.  I'm hoping its the album company because they have a very good reputation of customer service and should replace it at no cost.

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

  • I'm sorry!

We just ordered our wedding album.  I'm hoping that we won't have the same issue we had before, when we ordered our photo guest book, when the whole cover was H's face.

LOL ahhh yes the free books from Picaboo - we did that too and had issues with the first one, I ended up using the messed up one as a "kids guest book" lol.

  • Good luck!!  That is very frustrating, and if your original images aren't yellow and you approved a proof with the father-daughter spread in it, then you are absolutely within your rights to request a new book at no charge to you.

Just keep pushing your photographer, and hopefully he'll make it right, regardless of whether it was his fault or the printer's.

My photos were messed up... the main photographer - who everyone was looking at - had a color issue, and she just delivered the CD to me without even mentioning it.  I was ready to request a refund (after discussing the issue with another photographer) but I just told her that I felt that it was her responsiblity to fix them or have them fixed... and she did.  Now, I love-love-love them, and couldn't be happier with how they turned out.  I hope your photo story has a happy ending too!

  • I hope they get it fixed for you.

I had some mishaps with the photographer too.  At the reception, the one photographer told me they'd be calling me when I could order my thank you cards, album, etc.  They posted the pictures on the website, and never called me.  I called them like a week later and the photographer was such a *** to me. "You were supposed to call us when you got back from the honeymoon.  If you want thank you cards, you better order them TODAY." He was really rude, esp since we didn't go on a honeymoon and his colleague said she'd be calling me...

Regardless, I got the TY cards ordered and sent out.  Then I put together my album and enlargements and sent them an email with my order.  No response.  Called them, the guy who answered had no clue what I was talking about and said he'd call me back.  A week and a half go by, no answer. I call again, the girl said she'd check into it for me (again).  She finally emailed me yesterday saying they are processing my order.  Sheesh.  Hopefully it looks ok... I don't think I can deal with having to send it back.

  • haha Manda you're busy nourishing a growing olive sized baby right now - I've got no baby, no big projects, and in turn plenty of time to pick photo's for our album.

The good news is my photographer said the album company has agreed to reprint it prior to seeing the misprinted album, and I should have a new, perfect album within 2-3 weeks.  I'm still waiting to hear what I'll need to do with the original, misprinted album - I'm hoping that if they want it back, they'll provide a pre-paid shipping label...although if they dont make me send it back I know my mom would be thrilled to have that copy.  We'll see!

  • So glad that they are going to fix their mistake.  Sounds like a good company that will admit their mistakes.  I wouldn't think they'd want the other one back.  Hope your new one comes out perfect!

We are STILL waiting on our pro pics.  I saw my photog at church almost 2 weeks ago and he assured me that they are almost ready.  I'm just ready to check them out!!

  • So glad that it worked out!
