Post Office Interview?
Hi ladies! As you may remember, my FI has been unable to find a job since he got out of the USMC. He has an interview with the Post Office tomorrow.
Does anyone have any tips I can give him? I'm truly at a loss and he desperately needs a job.

My step dad works for USPS as a carrier. He's been with them for 20 years or so. I know that being military gives him extra points on the test. I just sent him an email to ask if he has any hints or tips. I'll let you know if I hear anything soon.

Hi! Sorry this is late but this is the response that I got from him tonight.
He said veterans get 5 extra points for the test and disabled vets get 10 extra points. The test is 80% memory, involving numbers and 20% math, involving comprehension and concepts. He said if he is offered a job as a TE (Transitional Employee) he shouldn't take it because it will never turn into full time with benefits that are worth anything. He also said there is a book he can buy that will help him study for the test. He didn't know they were hiring, as there has been a hiring freeze for the last 5 years or so.

Thank you (and him) so much! It turns out he needs a CDL to even be considered. The HR lady said the current driver is retiring in the next few months and needs a replacement. They called my FI first since he is a veteran.
