Good Morning!

Oh em gee are my legs killing me today.  Even Derek is sore, which makes be feel a bit better.  At least I'm not alone.  Tonight, we deadlift!  I'm excited.

I won't be around at all tomorrow, so someone else will have to take on Good Morning.

I went to the mall after work last night, but didn't come home with anything.  I was in a grumpy mood and just didn't feel like dealing with people.  I may try and snag a new pair of black flats today though.

I did, however, take some time to try out our new Kinect for the Xbox, and man-o-man is that ever fun!  I only played the Adventure game that comes with it, but it was a blast.  I can't wait to try the dancing game.

How is everyone today?

Re: Good Morning!

  • Good morning, ladies.

My friend's niece was killed in a car accident yesterday.  It's heartbreaking - she was only 20, and rolled her car on an icy street.  No seatbelt, so she was ejected.  There are several cousins near in age, so the family is reeling.  So sad.  I'm so scared of getting that phone call that something has happened to DH or the children.

It's still near zero, but supposed to get into the 50s this weekend.

    Have a great day, everyone.

  • LesPaul - I am so sorry. I also get so scared to receive that type of phone call as well.

Today I am focused and will not be on much.  Another day of OT for me.  I will be so glad when the mandatory OT is no longer necessary. Don't get me wrong the money is nice, but it is exhausting.  I am starting to see numbers in my sleep. Not good.

Cold today, my windows were frozen shut on my car. Even with warming my car up for 20 minutes before I left for work, they wouldn't budge until I was 5 minutes from work.  (sometimes it gets so hot in my car I have to crack the window).

Well have a great day ladies.

  • LesPaul, I'm so sorry.

My night was rather uneventful. I cooked dinner, did some housework and worked out. Kyle had a long day and didn't get home until close to 9 so it gave me a chance to be productive.

Tonight Kyle leaves for Miami for a week. One of his friends has a job down there for the next several months so Kyle and another friend are going down to visit. I'm not gonna lie, I'm slightly jealous, especially when I stepped outside this morning into the cold 4? weather (closer to -20? with the wind chill). But like LesPaul said, it's supposed to be near the 50s this weekend.

  • LesPaul, I'm so sorry.

Just finishing up the last few hours of our day at work and then heading home, hopefully get a work out in and the rest of the evening reading driving skills books.  Oh the excitement of it all!

On the plus side, the weather has been nice and mild here recently.  Hope we don't have another cold snap in store for us.

  • Morning ladies.  Today needs to be a focus day for me, so I don't think I'll be around much either.  Last night we had a contractor come out to take a look at fixing our leak (which thankfully hasn't been actually leaking) and remodelling our bathrooms.  This was the first guy that B and I met with who we both though knew what he was talking about.  He took lots of time to explain how he would go about installing what we wanted in the bathroom, and if he thought what we wanted wouldn't work, he would come up with a solution to do it differently.  Our bathrooms are quite small, and he even suggested how we could get a double vanity into one of them.  It would require moving a door, heating vent, plumbing, and maybe even electrical, so we will have to see what it will cost.

After he left, B and I finished booking train tickets for our trip in April.  We saved another $50 on the tickets from Venice to Milan to catch our plane home.  I know it's nerdy, but I love the fact that our vacation is going to cost less than expected.  In the past, I would have just booked stuff and not paid attention until the bills came, but I'm loving the budgetting process as much as picking out the stuff to do.  It's like a game to see how much money we can save and still take a fabulous trip.  If anyone wants a copy of the spreadsheet I made, I'm happy to share.  Ok, off to work now.

  • I'm so sorry, LesPaul.

Good morning, everyone. Things here are quiet today, but our company does have an event going on. I'm probably going to pitch in with that, but it shouldn't be too stressful for anyone.  Tonight we'll do a bit of quick shopping at our co-op, then have a quiet evening. I wasn't feeling the gym yesterday, but I made myself go and had an awesome run. Go figure. So tonight's rest will be fully earned. :)

  • I will say hi and do a slight intro since I haven't talked to most of you in a year and half... eek!

I'm a grad student now in the sciences, which I started right after we got married... and that means about 3 and a half years to go.  School for me = working so it's kind of like having a job most of the time with a class here and there.  H is in med school for another year and a half and then he'll most likely move away for residency, boo.  So basically we're still poor students in our mid-20s and the idea of a house/family is unfortunately a little ways off.  That's all :)

  • I'm going to follow amandasw's lead and do a re-introduction.

Since we got married, I taught in the city for one year. It was pretty demanding, which is why I had to stop knotting/nesting for a while. I taught juvenile sex offenders aged 11-21. Needless to say, it was a long year. This year I am teaching 8th grade Special Ed at a charter school and am loving it!

DH and I recently purchased a home, and we close next Wednesday. It was a stressful process, and I am so ready for it to be over and for us to be in our home. We found the perfect house, 3 BR/1.5 Bath on a half acre (pretty rare for being only 20 minutes outside of Philly). The house needs a ton of work, but we are ready for it! I'll make sure to post pictures of our progress.

I'm so glad to be back on here, and glad to see everyone is doing well!

  • That's so sad, LesPaul. :(

Popping in to say a quick hi, but I'm mostly MIA for the next couple of days. Busy week at work. Unfortunately I can't seem to keep my eyes open this morning. ugh.

  • Good morning ladies. I'm at the doctors waiting for my ultrasound this morning. Can't wait to see how LO is doing. After this we're going to tour labor and delivery since we're already here. After that I'll go in to work for a half day and my boss is leaving early so hopefully I can focus on work the whole afternoon. Have a good day ladies.

  • Good morning!

I was super late to work this morning because I was up too late reading last night.  I think I figured out what is causing my Kindle to spontaneously reboot and lose my page.  The word on the user forum is that it's the metal clips on the standard leather cover causing a short.  So, boo, I can't use my pretty apple green cover any more and I have to pay for a new one without the clips.  I ordered on this morning in purple and in the meantime have taken the Kindle out of the cover.  I hope that does the trick, but I'm sad because the cover was a Christmas present.

  • LesPaul, I'm so sorry for your loss, my thoughts are with your family.

    Hi Ladies,

Today is a busy day for me as usual. I have class tonight, and will be going to gym before hand. Our home visit yesterday went really well, and our worker told us she plans on being done with us in March. EEK! So we're looking forward to that.

I'm having a hard time this week as DH and I used to say the Triplets should come on valentine's day, but it's not as bad as I thought it'd be. I decided I'm going to do something for me, and I'm signing up with the personal trainer today.

  • LesPaul - I'm so sorry.

Starsailor - Yay for seeing baby star! How exciting.

I woke up at 2am having an anxiety attack. It sucked. DH is OOT this week and it's taking it's toll on me. He's always traveled for work, but it seems I'm more restless now that we're in a stand alone house and not a secure condo building, even though it's a much nicer neighborhood.

Tonight I'm looking forward to photography class. I am interested to get the feedback on my sunset photos from last night.

  • I finally got some sleep last night and feel much better today. I hate to say it, but I think it's the fact DH didn't come to bed until around 4am that may have contributed to that nice restful sleep. I have a feeling we punch and kick each other all night or something.

We finally have some much needed sunshine here, but it's not even 30 out, so I have a feeling there won't be any melting of snow. I'm so ready for this winter wonderland to disappear and give me warm enough weather to curl up with my books on the deck . I'm craving spring.

LesPaul - That is so awful. My DH was given a 12midnight curfew until he moved out at 23, because his parents had to get one of those middle of the night phone calls. I pray that never happens to anyone.
