Last Saturday was a busy day for me. The husband had to oversee one of our jobs, so I brought our crew to start a job in the morning to set them up until he got there. No problem.
Until I thought I got stabbed in the right kidney. Oddly, I had such a pain in my kidney so bad, it caused me to vomit right in the middle of the street (tres classy), but being "tough" like I normally am, I brushed it off, thought Id drink more water and go about my day.Which consisted of a birthday lunch and little get together for my friend all the way in Port Washington, LI.
So, long story short. mid celebration, kidney pain turns to severe abdominal cramping, and I end up having to be rushed to the hospital - the husband is frantic rushing to meet us there. TONS of morphine, zofran and then dylaudid later - tons of bloodwork, urine and MRI's later they tell me that its not kidney stones, but that it appears my intestines have "spontaneously gone inside of themselves"
UM WHAT? LOL - this is so spontaneous, sometimes it can self correct. 20 hours later, they put me in a bed in the OB unit to be monitored. Im drugged up, hysterical and terrified that all this is bad for the baby. I mean, hell - I cant have a hot dog, but morphine is fine?! LOL
So, my luck - pain gets worse and they rush me into surgery. 4 months pregnant. During the work day so the husband wasn't able to see me until after I got out. *they said it was life threatening and couldn't wait for him to get there! *I told him that they might operate, and he was 2 exits away. ![]()
And here I am, trying to recuperate at home - pregnant (thankfully baby is just fine) and in tons of pain from the surgery. And super frustrated/angry
What a scary experience. They operate on me only after to tell me that they "found nothing", that they essentially went in for nothing and NOW? The original pain that sent me to the ER is back.
I have my own theory: Kidney stones that didnt show on the MRI. It happens. Oddly, when I drink insane amounts of water, the pain goes right away. Maybe a stone? Anyone here ever have one?
Thanks for letting me vent.

holy crap, that sound scary! maybe you should go to a different doc and get another opinion?
i had kidney stones once, and can relate to the spontaneous vomiting and horrific, stabbing pain. the abdominal pain, though? i don't know. in my experience, that wasn't an issue...but i only had them one time, and i'm no expert.
so glad you and the baby are both okay, though! rest up, and be well.

Thankfully, the surgical pain has gotten much more tolerable, and today was my first day back at school. Whoa, was that rough. Felt like it set me back some, but it has to get better from here.
Here's to no more surgeries (while Im pregnant at least) and no more pain and drama.
UGH.
Oh man, this sounds crazy! I am so glad that you are ok. I hope you are feeling 100% very soon!
