HP update: about 60 pages to go
Hoping to finish it at lunch at noon. Very quick read, enjoying it so far, a little predictable, unless there's some major twist coming up. Not chomping at the bit to start the next one, have 3 books waiting for me at the library, but we'll see after I finish this one, maybe some crazy cliff-hanger will pull me in.

I completely agree. 1-3 are great, but they are aimed at 11 to 12 year olds, wear 4 - 7 get a lot darker, a lot more suspensful, ect ect ect. Please stick with it!

SPOILERS AHEAD!
So I'm glad there was a twist and it wasn't Snape trying to get the stone, but I suspected it wouldn't be since it was so obviously pointing to him. I'm guessing many of the characters or types of characters (unicorns, centaurs) were lightly introduced and will appear later on. Overall it's a good base for building relationships, characters, stories, etc.
I will definitely continue reading them, but will probably first read at least the next book club book first.
lol. I'm a little embarrassed because I always thought of 1 and 2 as the younger books and 3 where things start to get a lot more interesting. But now that I think about it I can understand 4 as a turning point of sorts.
