WWYD? Clicky!

2 boys who have been driving me nuts dropped out of the play today.  ::facepalm::  Fine.  I'll replace them.  The problem is that a) they had minor speaking/solo roles (aka had names) and I've already sent my posters to the printers...and we decided to have them printed professionally this year.

The problem is threefold.  The first is that I had the kids with "named" roles in a larger font, above the ensemble, but even so, now these kids shouldn't be on the poster.  The second is that for the kids who replace them, their names will still be in the smaller grouping, and won't be emphasized.  Third, the incorrectness of the poster bothers both me and my assistant director, but it'll cost about $80 to replace.  It'll take another 2 weeks from the date we order, if we re-order.  Right now, it's on hold so that I don't eat the shipping costs (the posters were due to ship out tomorrow).   We've spent a lot of money this year and haven't recovered all of it yet, and it makes me nervous spending money we haven't recovered yet, even though we still have about half of our budget left (but we still have stuff to buy).

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

  • Were you going to laminate the posters?  Would it be possible to print the new names on regular paper and tape it to the poster before laminating?  Sure it might not be as pretty as before, but the corrects kids would be listed, you wouldn't have to wait 2 extra weeks, and it's basically free.

If that wouldn't work, I'd just leave the posters as is, but in the program be sure to note the correction.

  • I was thinking the same this put the names on paper and paste it over. If you are worried about it looking too different you could always do that for everyones name. Then it will actually give everyone a 3D - pop out kind of thing????

    It could look really nice.
