f/u and pics of the whooping cranes
A couple of people said they would like to see pics of the whooping cranes, so here are a few. If you don't know, whooping cranes are an endangered species. There are only 373 left in the wild and 145 in captivity. They're also the tallest bird in North America, standing at 5ft tall with a 7ft wingspan. These are from the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge, which is about 60 miles from my school. We've called the refuge, and they said that they know where they are and that it's good for them to wander. They've been here since at least Monday. The blueish-grey birds that are with them are Sandhill Cranes.

That is so cool. They are beautiful! I also like the fun facts!
FWIW, I never learned how to make origami cranes and now i want to try.
My mission this weekend is to find an easy version of the paper crane. I really want to make them with the kids next week, so we can hang them and pics of the real cranes in the hallway.

That's a great idea! If you find an easy one, feel free to send it my way!
