jeans

Where do you buy your jeans? What brands do you wear? What price range are they in?

I'm having the hardest time finding a plain pair of bootcut or flare jeans I can wear to work. Most of the pairs I find are either skinny, are distressed, or huge designs stitched on the pocket. Fine for going out, but not appropriate for wearing to the office. I usually shop in the juniors section since I don't have curvy hips for many women's pants styles, but I think I may have to start.

Re: jeans

  • I started buying Old Navy jeans again and LOVE them. I was able to wear a pair of dark wash to work one day - mine don't have designs on them, and they actually fit me.

A lot of my friends wear jeans from Gap, too - haven't gotten around to finding a pair there yet.

  • I get my jeans from Express.  I have don't have curves either and shop mainly in the juniors section.  Express usually has one or two styles that fit me.  I have short legs too so I really like that they have short sizes there.  I think their jeans range from $65-$90.

  • I buy all my jeans from Maurice's. They have a pretty large variety from distressed to not-at-all distressed. I don't think I've ever paid over $35 for a pair! Plus, they usually have fantastic sales on them. And, I've never had a problem with them wearing out fast, either.

  • I have luck with Gap for plainer jeans. For going out and day to day, I like Miss Me jeans. You can find them pretty much anywhere--dillards etc. I also try express and banana for a slimmer fit!

  • Old Navy and Maurice's jeans are pretty much the only jeans I wear. I have problems finding the right length (short) and finding jeans that fit right since I have a smallish (compared to the rest of me) waist and healthy butt and thighs. Your body type is pretty much opposite of mine from what I remember, but I'm sure if I can find jeans from those places that fit then you can too! I usually pay $25-$35/pair.

I've heard good things about Miss Me jeans, but I have no experience with them.
  • Jeans are really hard for me to find because I need extra length, smaller waist, but to fit my curvy booty. I am cheap and never spend over $35 for a pair. I shop at Kohls, JCP, and F21.

JCP is having their red tag sale, I bought 3 pairs of jeans for $5 each the other day, all work/casual appropriate.

Can you wear the regular long length ones that you can buy in the store?  If so, I am jealous!  I have a pair of those but they drive me nuts because they're not quite long enough.  I have two pairs of talls I ordered online and they are the perfect length, but I hate buying clothes without being able to try them on.

I'd love to find a place locally where I could buy jeans that are long enough that aren't super expensive (which to me means less than $40 a pair).  My mom has some that she loves from JC Penney (I think they're the Levi Slender Secret) but they never have them in my size when I go.

  • Right now, the jeans that I have been wearing have been from American Eagle, The Buckle, and Aeropostale. I usually can't find any that fit right from American Eagle or Aero, but I guess I got lucky with a couple of pairs. I really like my jeans from The Buckle. They're the BKE brand. They were a little expensive ($75) but worth it IMO. And the Buckle will alter any jeans you buy from them for free.

I can - barely. They're right at the perfect length...if I was an inch or two taller, they'd be too short. I quit wearing ON jeans in high school because they were never long enough, and I'm like you - I hate buying clothes without being able to try them on first. But now that their long version is actually long enough, I can wear them. Do you buy their other clothes in talls or just the jeans?

  • I have never heard of maurices.

I bought some Gap jeans recently. Not bad for $15 after alterations. But to be honest, I don't like jeans.

  • Thanks for the recommendations. I'll have to go on a shopping expedition soon and see what I can find.

  • I'm on the petite side, but I do have hips. Old Navy jeans do not fit me well at all because they gap at the waist.

Have you looked at Gap, BR, or JCrew? They all have simple bootcut jean styles. I've had luck with all three places for years.

Gap jeans tend to run $40-60, and BR/JCrew seem to be anywhere from $60-90.

I buy all of my jeans at Maurices right now; they also carry Vigoss, Hydralic and Silver in addition to there brand. I have some BKE and Lucky jeans in my closet but I'm too big for them at the moment. I have also heard good things about the Miss Me jeans Jamie posted about but all that I have seen have been in the $125+ price range.

$125+?!? Holy shiit! I have some FB friends who were raving about Miss Me jeans recently. That was the first time I'd heard of them, but that price tag is ridiculous.
  • I used to wear American Eagle and some from Target. But I recently went to Ann Taylor Loft and found out that their jeans fit me perfectly. I bought mine on sale for $20 but regularly they are about $60. I think this is where I will be buying mine from now on. The bootcut are great and are a darker wash so they could be causual or for work. I do need to get the hem taken up on them because they are alittle long but besides that they are great.

I think you and I are about the same height, but maybe I am just  a bit longer in the legs and shorter in the torso.  Or maybe they made the longs at ON longer since I last went in a store - might have to check that out.  I haven't tried any of the other clothes in tall, but I might try a shirt sometime.  It would be nice to be able to wear a long-sleeve shirt and not have to pull the sleeves up to 3/4 because they're too short (although I probably would anyway because it's become such a habit. lol.).

There out of my range too. My max on jeans about $75-$85 which I haven't spent that much ina few years. Probably will once I lose some weight. I don't want to spend much more $40 so when I do loose I don't have expensive jeans in the closet that I will sell for $10 in a garage sale.
