Re: BOTB
TTC: Do you have a BD routine, i.e. how many days before O do you start and do you go for every other day or every day? At first we didn't have a routine at all. Then it was a few times during the 'window'. Then it was every day in the window (the only times that actually worked were the every day schedule.)
1st Trimester: When was your first doctor visit scheduled? At 8 weeks. We did a sonogram and got to see a little peanut with a flashing heart, a general exam and filled out a bunch of paperwork. We also went over a list of the vitamins/supplements I was taking and asked what activities were ok for me to do.
2nd Trimester: What questions do you usually have for your health care provider? I can't really say I've had that many questions. I wanted to know what his c-section rate was, how he felt about natural birth, if anyone else would be delivering the baby... So pretty general questions. There have been a few 'side affects' of the PG that I've asked the nurse or the Dr about if they weren't something I felt comfortable asking friends or family members about. Later on I will be asking how long he'll let me go without induction and other birth related questions.
TTC: Do you have a BD routine, i.e. how many days before O do you start and do you go for every other day or every day? I think we started the day before O and some months we'd try for every day, other months we'd try every other. I don't think we had a routine.
1st Trimester: When was your first doctor visit scheduled? We were at the IF clinic, so they had me do a blood test right away to confirm the pregnancy. Then I had appts. every 2 weeks for ultrasounds up until 12 weeks. At 12 weeks, I had my first appt. with my regular ob.
2nd Trimester: What questions do you usually have for your health care provider? I would check with her about things I had read in the books, like sleeping on my side, exercising, etc. I also had crazy heartburn and was constantly looking for a better remedy (which I found- Prilosec was the only thing that finally worked).
3rd Trimester: Do you think you'll go early, late or on time? OB thinks I'll be early, but everyone keeps feeling the need to remind me that first deliveries are usually late. So I don't know!
Updates: Maternity leave is glorious- I'm doing several projects each day and feeling productive in my nesting.
The PUPPPS are still driving me mad, but Aveeno is my friend and I'm surviving. My final shower was on Saturday and it was unbelievable!! I need to post pictures- my cousin did an unbelievable job with the decor!

1st Trimester: When was your first doctor visit scheduled? It was what we thought was 8 weeks, but really turned out to be somewhere during the fifth week.
2nd Trimester: What questions do you usually have for your health care provider? I don't really have many questions yet, although I am sure I will have more closer to the end. I did ask if I could go to a rock concert which my doctor said was okay (Ozzy and Slash were awesome last week!).
3rd Trimester: Do you think you'll go early, late or on time? I think baby will be late but DH and my mom think early. I just hope I don't give birth on my birthday/wedding anniversary!
TTC: Do you have a BD routine, i.e. how many days before O do you start and do you go for every other day or every day?
We try to do every day of the window, although we might do every other day at the beginning of the window, then up to every day at the end.
TTC: Do you have a BD routine, i.e. how many days before O do you start and do you go for every other day or every day? No routine really...I was charting, so we BD during my O window and got PG.
1st Trimester: When was your first doctor visit scheduled? Our first appt was at 8w0d. They did a bunch of blood work and urine analyses, an u/s where we saw the little flickering h/b and gave us photos. We also set our future appts (regular appts, NT scan, etc) through April/May.
2nd Trimester: What questions do you usually have for your health care provider? Not officially 2nd tri yet, but I generally don't have a lot of questions...my H does though. He always wants to know about things like exercise, etc. He brings in his Expectant Father book with his questions marked...he's more prepared than I am, lol.
3rd Trimester: Do you think you'll go early, late or on time? Not 3rd tri, but I was thinking that based on the fact that all my mom's pregnancies (4) were late, I'd surely go late...but I just found out my half sister (we share my mom) was 10 and 13 days early with her 2, so who knows?!
Updates: NT scan was this morning and we got about 50 (!!) pictures, lots of 3D images, a CD and a movie of the baby bouncing around. We bonded with our sonographer...it was such a super cool experience. Baby looks very healthy and genetic counselor says she expects it all to stay that way, so we're letting all our friends and family that don't know in on the secret today/tomorrow. I actually blurted it out at work yesterday...so now it's really out. I'm excited and slightly (more than slightly) terrified. But mostly terrifically excited.
Holy cow!! You had quite the sonogram experience! I thought we were lucky when we got 9 pictures at our anatomy scan at 19 weeks!
Have fun telling people the big news- that is so much fun.

1st Trimester: When was your first doctor visit scheduled? Our first Dr. visit was at 9 weeks. This appointment was kind of eventful because we found out we were having twins. My Dr. sent me to another site to get a more thorough ultrasound to make sure there were only two and to make sure there were no problems.
2nd Trimester: What questions do you usually have for your health care provider? Hmm I have not had many questions for my Dr. Mainly I have just wanted to know his experience with twins, which was where he showed me all of the pictures of the twins he had delivered so that made me feel better.
3rd Trimester: Do you think you'll go early, late or on time? I will most likely be early because I am having twins. I am just hoping not too early.
Updates: Still waiting for my anatomy scan which is next Friday the 18th. We are just so excited to find out what out little jumping beans are.
1st Trimester: When was your first doctor visit scheduled? 8 weeks
2nd Trimester: What questions do you usually have for your health care provider? I don't generally have a lot of questions...
3rd Trimester: Do you think you'll go early, late or on time? DS was on time...this time I think it'll be early.
L&D: Did your health care provider break your bag of waters or let it break on it's own? If it was broken, how far into active labor where you? Did it change anything (did it speed up your labor, or cause any distress to the baby, or did they need to try to replace fluid later?) The doctor was going to break my water at 9cm, but as she was checking to see if I was at 9 yet, it broke. It actually kind of freaked me out because I wasn't expecting it and I had no idea what had just happened.
First Days: How often did your LO eat in the first few days? Did you keep a log? we didn't keep a log, but we fed him every 3 hrs the first two weeks. We actually had to set the alarm at night because he would not wake up to eat on his own. He was perfectly content to just sleep. After the first 2 weeks when we could go to "on demand" feeding I still kept it around 4 hrs during the day. At night we let him go a little longer, unless he woke up on his own.
1st Trimester: When was your first doctor visit scheduled? I had some spotting that concerned me so they brough me in early to do an ultrasound and we were in the 7th week. We had only found out we were pregnant a few days before so that was pretty early.
2nd Trimester: What questions do you usually have for your health care provider? I had a zillion questions all the time. Mostly about pregnancy symptoms and side effects and such.
3rd Trimester: Do you think you'll go early, late or on time? I definitely thought I would have gone early due to gestational weight and my size. Not so much.
L&D: Did your health care provider break your bag of waters or let it break on it's own? If it was broken, how far into active labor where you? Did it change anything (did it speed up your labor, or cause any distress to the baby, or did they need to try to replace fluid later?) I had my bag of waters broken after 12 hours of pitocin....it made me a hell of a lot more comfortable, but didn't do much other than that...the nurses said that my contractions were closer together, but sense I never really felt any contractions I never noticed.
First Days: How often did your LO eat in the first few days? Did you keep a log? I tried to do a log, but it got too confusing. My kiddo cluster fed from the word go. He was a definitely comfort nurser so feeding was almost an all the time thing in those first days/weeks.
1st Trimester: When was your first doctor visit scheduled? I was seen when I was 7w4d.
2nd Trimester: What questions do you usually have for your health care provider? Nurtrition questions, questions about feeling things I haven't felt before (if that's the baby moving or not) and general questions about how she's doing.
3rd Trimester: Do you think you'll go early, late or on time? I don't know either way, but I am HOPING beyond hope that she's just a few days late.
1st Trimester: When was your first doctor visit scheduled? 6 weeks with the REI clinic to confirm the pregnancy.
2nd Trimester: What questions do you usually have for your health care provider?
3rd Trimester: Do you think you'll go early, late or on time? I was exactly one week early
L&D: Did your health care provider break your bag of waters or let it break on it's own? If it was broken, how far into active labor where you? Did it change anything (did it speed up your labor, or cause any distress to the baby, or did they need to try to replace fluid later?) My water broke on it's own two days before my scheduled c/s. Wasn't expecting that one!
First Days: How often did your LO eat in the first few days? Did you keep a log? He was eating every 1.5-2 hours the first couple of days. I started writing it down, but then downloaded the Total Baby app and have been using it ever since. I highly recommend that app!
Update: Dovey is 4 months old and a whopping 16lbs.
TTC: Do you have a BD routine, i.e. how many days before O do you start and do you go for every other day or every day?
#1 was conceived using BC and I was clueless about my cycles at that point. When I finally got my PP period I was more knowledgeable and in touch with my body and I now feel when I O. With #2 we tried w/o BC once because O was due, I felt the O happen 2 days later...and it worked
1st Trimester: When was your first doctor visit scheduled?
In the 7th week for #2
3rd Trimester: Do you think you'll go early, late or on time?
I don't know for #1 because we weren't too sure of the conception date. Hopefully this one will be here early/on time, otherwise I might have to have another c/s
L&D: Did your health care provider break your bag of waters or let it break on it's own? If it was broken, how far into active labor where you? Did it change anything (did it speed up your labor, or cause any distress to the baby, or did they need to try to replace fluid later?)
My water broke in the classic movie way, in bed with a pop and a gush. Labor did not start on it's own, they eventually gave me pitocin to start labor because they said baby needed to be out within 24 hours of water breaking.
First Days: How often did your LO eat in the first few days? Did you keep a log?
I used trixie tracker to map out feedings, diapers and sleep. I think I will use it again, I liked the sleep aspect the most.
Updates:
1st Trimester: When was your first doctor visit scheduled? I had a regular annual scheduled that I switched to pre-natal after the BFP. It was around 6w (we thought/hoped we were farther along than that).
2nd Trimester: What questions do you usually have for your health care provider? Not much... I usually get a lot answered either by the very knowledgeable Nesties/Bumpies or use other resources (internet, family, friends, etc.). My questions usually center on Kaiser specifically, like how many ultrasounds will I get, when I should schedule classes, etc.
3rd Trimester: Do you think you'll go early, late or on time? Late. My family has very late babies, so I've prepared myself for a 42+ week pregnancy. I'll be doing a lot of walking and other things in hopes of not needing an induction!
1st Trimester: When was your first doctor visit scheduled?
I was 9 weeks, more than I wanted to be - but we switched insurance when I was 6 weeks and I couldn't get an appointment until just before or just after the switch was done.
2nd Trimester: What questions do you usually have for your health care provider? This time around I have not had questions so far, I'm feeling better this time then I did with my pregnancy with DS.1st Trimester: When was your first doctor visit scheduled? First one was scheduled at 9 weeks but b/c of spotting I went in at 7 weeks
2nd Trimester: What questions do you usually have for your health care provider? I always had a list of questions written down, usually about symptoms I was experiencing and about their birth practices
3rd Trimester: Do you think you'll go early, late or on time? I thought, and my doc thought, that I would go late. At my 39 week appt, doc and I talked about how he would let me go until 42 weeks before inducing. Baby girl had other plans, I was induced just a few days later after a failed NST.
L&D: Did your health care provider break your bag of waters or let it break on it's own? If it was broken, how far into active labor where you? Did it change anything (did it speed up your labor, or cause any distress to the baby, or did they need to try to replace fluid later?) The doc asked if she could break my bag of waters. She asked, then had to go to a c/s. When she came back, I told her I didn't want her to break it. She knew I was going to say that (she knew I was trying for a med free birth). She asked probably about 2pm, and I think it started leaking shortly after that anyway, no big gush, just constant leakage. I think it broke for sure when I started pushing.
First Days: How often did your LO eat in the first few days? Did you keep a log? The first week we had to wake her to eat every 3 hours, now she eats every 2-3 hours, with some 4 hour stretches at night. We use Total Baby app as well.

TTC: Do you have a BD routine, i.e. how many days before O do you start and do you go for every other day or every day?
This is only my second cycle off BCP so I am still trying to figure out what the heck my body is doing. We try to BD at least EOD and sometimes ED. Trying to figure out my CM and when I am fertile is probably the hardest part about all this. Hopefully in a few months (if I'm not KU) I will have my fertile window and a routine more figured out.
