So last week I posted on here that I may be getting a new job. It is VERY likely that I will get it and I am so excited.
The problem is that I don't know what to say to my current employer. I homeschool a boy with autism. I don't know what to tell his mom because the job hasn't been guaranteed yet. I don't want to leave her high and dry at the last minute, but I don't want her to find some one else for no reason.
Also, she is always in such a hurry when I see her and I won't see her again til Friday. I guess what I'm asking is should I tell her that there is a possibilty that I will be taking another job? Also, if I do tell her, is it okay for me to send it in an email since I won't see her until Friday?
Re: Job Question
I wouldn't email about this. This is something that needs to be done in person. I'd call her and tell her you have something you need to talk to her about and suggest a time to do it in person to tell her about the possibility of the new job. While she may be disappointed at the thought of losing you, I'm sure she'd appreciate the thought in the long run.?
Congrats (hopefully!) on the new job!?
Ditto. Definitely let her know that you need to talk to her in person as soon as she gets some free time. I'm sure she'll appreciate the heads-up.
