Cat peed on my patio chair!

I just saw a stray cat peeing on my patio chair.  I don't know if this is a one time thing or if all the neighborhood cats have been using my chairs as a bathroom all winter.  I'm not normally staring out the window.  The part he peed on was the cushion part.  I can't throw it in the washing machine because it is too big.  How would you clean this?  How can I prevent it from happening in the future?

  • Spray it down with Nature's Miracle. It's an enzymatic cleaner, which is necessary for urine removal.
  • Bring your cushions in the house for the winter?

We sit out on the porch often while my step daughter plays outside- even in the winter.

this, but while you are treating it, you will need to put it somewhere the cat(s) can't get to it as they will return to the spot until this kills the smell.  It may take multiple treatments if it has been going on for awhile.  There are also home remedies that involve vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda but I don't remember the rations- if you google "get cat pee out of furniture or carpet" you should find it.  I would try Nature's Miracle first.

  • Here is a website that talks about stray/feral cats and how to live with them peacefully-- by which I mean peeing where they should.
