Have we talked about Valentine's Day?

Do you guys all have your plans made?  We're still planning to make plans for dinner, but haven't done reservations yet.  I guess we'll talk about it tonight.  We've just been so busy!

I picked up a card for E today at the supermarket, and last night I ordered his gifts; now I just hope they get here in time.  I did all my shopping at thinkgeek.com this time around.  See if you can find the theme:

How about you guys?

Re: Have we talked about Valentine's Day?

  • Well, I got H a tie (he's been rocking the button up/tie/vest look) and will get him his fav scotch (Macallen 12). I also got him a big ole peanut butter reeses heart.

He was supposed to do dinner plans. I've been no help with him.

We may go out Sunday instead of Monday.

  • We're going to dinner at a Mexican seafood place that is one of our favorites.  Trying to go Monday night, but if we are too late for a reservation, we'll go Sunday night.

No gifts.  Maybe cards.  We have V-day, DH's B-day and our anniversary all within 3 weeks, so we are forgoing gifts for V-day  and possibly our anniversary this year.  We don't need more stuff anyway, and would rather save the money and put it towards a bathroom reno.  But, for DH's birthday, I'm getting him a year's subscription to Netflix, for the Wii (and DVDs).

  • Similar to Meghann...We're trying to pay off my student loan this year and V-day, my birthday and anniversary all right in a row so we are just going out for dinner (on Saturday).

  • And...our plans just slightly changed.  Now we're doing a double date with some of my friends!  Super fun.
  • We're not making any big plans this year for obvious reasons. I got DH a card and if we don't have Margot yet, we'll probably just make a nice dinner in. Our first date was Valentine's Day 7 years ago, so it's always a fun holiday for us :)

  • We always go to the same place for sushi, and never need reservations.

We never exchange gifts, but last year he surprised me with a robe. I still don't think I'm getting him anything this year. If he wants to buy me something, he's more than welcome to, but I'm sticking to our no gifts rule.

  • I'm going to attempt to run out tomorrow to get H a card, but we agreed to no presents. I think my mom is coming on Saturday to help me clean in prep for his mom coming to town next week, so we may sneak away for a coffee date :)

  • It totally snuck up on us.  We don't have any plans.  I am thinking that we will probably just have a nice dinner at home. I've been working so much that I just want to spend some time at home.

  • All of that actually sounds really good.

We do small gifts (all 3 things added up to $50 or thereabouts).  And we'd like to go out... last year we were broke so we put off plans... and then I got really sick that morning.  Woke up at some ungodly hour throwing up my guts and kept at it all day while E took care of me.  Some first married V-Day, huh?  So dinner out this year sounds good.

  • Rod's of course working all weekend and Monday, so today was our Valentines date. After our appt this morning, we went to CVS to wait for my Rx and picked out cards for each other, read them in the store and bought ourselves chocolate snacks to eat on the way to the restaurant.

    Aw, that's so sweet!!

  • We don't have any plans on account of being broke. Lol! Well, that's not true, just no money for gifts. I got DH a card but I doubt he'll even remember. He's not big into cards.
  • Marcy, you made me chuckle.  We were like this too, sorta, until this year.  We usually will get a card and a small box of chocolates for each other.  This year, H has already told me, so I already got you a surprise for v-day.  He then proceeds to say, so ahhh, I need some new ties, so you can just get me that!  So I guess over the weekend, I'll be shopping for a tie or 2.

I also thought we would just chill and stay in for din but he has made reservations to a steak house.  All of a sudden my H is becoming Mr. Romantic!  :)  I shouldn't complain....

  • Today is D's birthday, so we're going to Maine for the weekend, and coming home via Providence. So that's our Valentines day, since monday everyone is working.
