Any one listening to LePage?
Anyone listening to the unveiling of the budget??
We are all listening to it in our cubes.
**sigh** That's all I'm gonna say.
Re: Any one listening to LePage?
Agreed!
Not that Baldacci did an awesome job or anything, but I am even more scared about where this is gonna go.
All I heard was the ad on NPR for it where the quote was that - Mainers have to sacrifice for the next two years, and then we will be in a much better place.
Yeah, right - so after you fire a bunch of state services workers, cut welfare, public education, transportation, environmental safeguards, state retirement, non-profits have to lay off and cut services because of no state funding - then after two years of that I am SURE we will be in a much better place.
Edit:
Ok, I listened to it. Not as annoying as I thought it would be, but still.
- so because UMS is dumb enough to admit 25% of it's population when they need remedial work before they can start college classes (and the CC system 54%) he wants to make 5 year high schools, it what what I heard? And everyone clapped? What about the 75% of the kids who ARE ready?
- LOL that he said "we are scared of government" - when he is the government and I am scared of him.
Yes, five year high schools are his "big idea." Genius, just genius.
Granted I did not hear this today so I'm just going off this post but ... 5 year high schools?!?!
Um ... is it just me or was 4 years of high school just darn plenty?
yeah, high school was hard. I got mediocre grades. College was the easiest thing I have ever done. I got stellar grades.
