is a double date on V-Day a little odd?

a friend asked if we'd like to go to dinner with her and her husband. we always have a good time out with them. and i know she's looking forward to it, b/c she got a babysitter. i was just a little surprised they asked us. is that odd?

Re: is a double date on V-Day a little odd?

  • I think it depends on how "serious" you take Valentine's Day.  We do something very small, if at all.  So we would definitely be game for a double date with a couple that we have a good time with.  It definitely isn't your typical Valentine's night out, but I don't think it is completely weird.
  • Maybe they are swingers

rofl.  Whatever you do, if they invite you to a key party.. DON'T GO! lol.

It can be odd, but as elissa said, it depends on how serious you take v-day.

Why do you think they call it 'V-Day'

    lmao. .

as pp said it. . depends on how serious. Our Anniversary is on the 20th and that's our special day so we'll probably do something really small for valentines. If our friends wanted to double date, I think it'd be fun. Go bowling or something :)

Off note : our church is having a valentines day banquet and doing the 'dating game' type of thing (like. .how well you know each other). We're going, and totally excited about it :)

  • Valentine's Day is just a nice way to get an expensive dinner out of DH. The food is all I care about. So I will enjoy it with another couple or DH. It doesn't matter to me. We don't usually make a huge deal out of Valentine's Day.

I agree with this 100%.   Dh doesn't celebrate V-Day at all, but if it were up to me, I'd make it a fun couples kind of night.

omg! i'll have to mention that to her!

  • We normally would plan something with another couple to hang out.  This year we are going to the Bobcats/Lakers game with another couple and it just so happens to fall on V-Day.

  • I'll be going to dinner & then to see Anthony Bourdain for V-Day with my BF, DEX, & DEX's GF, so...no. Not weird at all in comparison :)
