I have an Idiot Co-Worker. I know I have complained here before about our banking girl at my office. She is the one who is only here about half the time because of her kids who are constantly in trouble. When she is here she is on her cell phone. All. day.
Well, let me update you...
Last week, I went to the boss about how I am getting killed at work. With everything I have to do for her, I am just not finding time to do my collection calls. I have to match up her checkstubs to our invoices almost every day because she claims she can't find them. So the boss tells me, "why don't we try put ALL non-paid invoices in one drawer." Meaning all lates, notification of lawsuit letters, all bond filings, all collections, and all bankruptcy files.
So I stayed here at the office last Thursday night from 5 pm after a full day shift until midnight. 16 hours. To do this, I had to re-arrange ALL of my filing drawers. Which was not an easy task because most were going from legal size to letter size and vice versa. As soon as I looked at it when it was done, I knew 2 things would happen.
1. IC would not like it because this file cabinet faces my desk. Which it should. I am the one in it EVERY single day for the majority of the day. But I knew she would want it turned so it's more convenient for her.
yep...Boss came back on Tuesday and I showed Boss and IC how the new system would work and that was her first comment. I, the most polite way I could, told her not a chance. She is in there for MAYBE 2 invoices a day and I am in it ALL DAY LONG. It STAYS as it is.
2. IC would use the inconvenience as another excuse not to do her job because it would be too confusing and she would have to go into my work area.
once again...the 3 words that came to mind were..."i was right" Today she handed them over the boss and told me to find them since there is no room in my area for 2 of us. After lunch, I told Boss that I don't mind helping her find invoices if she CAN'T find them, but I refuse to look for ALL of them for her because she is too lazy to. She agreed, took the check stubs and said she will talk to her tomorrow. I also made sure to point out, since IC is gone AGAIN this afternoon, that the stubs I handed boss are all screwed up. Some of them are copies of our invoice with an explanation as to why we were short paid on a load. IC did not attach them to the invoice like she should have.
So go on to another issue today. I got a call this afternoon from company X. On Monday IC sent a COD check BACK TO THE ISSUING COMPANY. WTH?!?! IT was apparently attached to the invoice, rate sheet and pods. So instead of marking it off as a COD load, she sent the check back to them.
I am just way beyond frustrated with IC and can't understand WHY she still has a job. She is only here half the time and when she is, her cell is attached to her ear. I am so sick of doing 2 jobs.
