when do you do when....

The ground outside is covered in snow & ice and your dog is looking for grass because he has an upset stomach? This happened to us again the other night so I fed him some celery until he seemed to be OK. Normally he would be let outside, eat grass, puke, and all would be good. But now this isn't an option with the current weather.

I don't know what the chain pet stores sell for this... What do you do? I felt so bad for my poor puppy dog.

My teacher last night mentioned Pepto Bismal for the dog.. I had never heard of this.

Re: when do you do when....

  • You can usually buy grass in a pet store. I've seen it at PetSmart and Petco.

  • I was going to suggest wheatgrass.  We used to grow some for our cat to munch on, but I'm not sure if it works for dogs.
  • Sorry, no advice, but hope the poor guy feels better soon!  Lucy loves the grass home remedy (I wish she wouldn't... it always makes nervous, but I guess it's natural).

  • Thanks ladies.. He's fine now but I just feel bad he doesn't get the instant relief that he's used to.

I'll have to stop by PetCo/PetSmart and see what they have.

  •  We give our dog pepto bismal when her stomach is upset. We give her one tablet and she's good to go. Also, ginger snaps are good for upset tummies for dogs. Good luck....hope he feels better!
