146 pages... really?
146 pages for a divorce application. All I had to do to get married was check a box. I wont even mention the filing fee. There goes my tax money

Yes, divorce can be quite expensive. My co-worker just went through a bad divorce and she spent more money that I ever knew it could take.

Indeed, in OP's case, I think her divorce is timely, if not a tad bit overdue.
WhatIsLove, be thankful you don't live in Maryland. There is a mandatory one year waiting period here between legally separating and filing for divorce. I hope that everything goes as quickly and smoothly as possible for you!
Liz, filing fee in Hills. Cty is $408.00 for a divorce.

$408 to file the paperwork. (going to cost me $20 to print the forms) If he wants to drag it out there could be more fees and there is a fee for mediation too. It will be money well spent. I havent told him yet that I am filing becuase we get our tax check next week and I want to make sure I get my half like we agreed. Kinda dont want to rock the boat type of thing.
If that's what you need to do to get the money to file, I would do it without hesitation. I hope that he is able to come around to reason and that he doesn't try to make things difficult out of spite. Best of luck and speedy divorce vibes!
