So off of the kitchen is the guest bedroom (still working on decorating, but my problem is that the bed isn't centered so I feel like I can't put anything the wall behind it b/c either it wouldn't be center on the wall or with the bed). We choose this paint color (although it wasn't really how we expected it to look. We wanted something slightly more olive):

The biggest problem we had when we rented a 1 bedroom was closet space. So now, I use the guest bed closet at my closet since I wake up and get ready while DH is still sleeping. My closet (I cannot wait to have more space so I can stop storing my crap in my pink plastic drawers!):
So out of the guest bed and off the kitchen is the hall:
On the left hand side we have our wedding signature matte and a display of pics (frames from Ikea that I painted):

The first door on the right is a storage closet, which is a mess and where DH lets his brewed beer ferment:
First door on the left is our bathroom, which I think is my favorite room. Our old apt's bath was painted navy, had no window and was about 1/3 the size of this. I think I like this room the best b/c it seems so bright and open compared to our old bath!
It's hard to tell, but the artwork about the towel is a framed cutout of the Chicago skyline. I got it off of etsy. The thing that I think is really cool is that all of the cutout spots are filled in with Chicago maps and on one of the maps is our cross-steets. We didn't tell her where we lived or anythign, so what are the odds of that?

ETA: I forgot to add that I just order this to go on the bathroom shelf too. It's the John Hancock building (it's about 1' foot), to add to our "city" theme:
The second door on the left, is our laundry room. Small, but yay for in-unit laundry:
The second door on the right is our master bedroom (we choose this paint color too). Neither of us are a fan of the light wood anymore (the furniture is from my college days), but we don't want to replace it until we buy a place and have a permanent home:

DH's fairly neat closet. I think he has as many clothes as me!:
Lastly, and one of our fav things is the deck and fenced it backyard. I think it's our major hestiation about trying to find a place to buy. It's hard to find fenced in-green/grass area. It's SO convienent for letting Oscar out, especially during freezing temps when we don't want to put all of our gear on. Here's just a pic of the deck (the yard would have been nasty to take a pic of, haha, yellow snow everywhere!):
And there you have it; the place I call home :O)

Thanks! I know we defnitely need somethign, just trying to figure out what. The problem is that b/c of the desk, the bed is about a foot (to the right) off-centered. If I centered something based on the wall width, then I wonder if it'd make the bed's postion on the wall look weird. And if I centered something above the bed, then it'd be slightly off center overall on the wall. Maybe I should just experiment w/locations. And like some of you suggested for hanging pics, just tape up some paper in both locations to see what looks better.
I'm going to Ikea this weekend to hopefully find a full length dark-wood framed mirror to go to the left of my closet too.

A lot of our stuff is old/hand me down (the table and chairs, the master bed furniture, our island's stools, the bar), but with a little work and coordination, it all kind of came together! Although both bedding sets were from our wedding registries

Gaaah I'm jealous! I'm not good at putting colors together and whatnot.
You have a lovely home, Hannah!

Such a cute home! You've done a great job with the place. And I am so jealous! I've always wanted to live downtown (Dallas, Fort Worth and Oklahoma City were my options) but never could justify the expense.
As far as the guest room, I do think you should hang something over the bed. Just center it with the bed. It doesn't matter if it is off center for the wall. The spacial area of the bed creates a new "center."
